  1. Never pass up a good deal...

It topped out at around $11 here. I had another home improvement project that I delayed by a few months until the price dropped below $8. The dynamics of the pricing was interesting. At one point when the price was rising rapidly I bought a few boards and pressure treated was cheaper than...
  2. Never pass up a good deal...

I found out about the sale when I went there to get a stack of lumber for my ongoing basement reno, and found them sold out. Guy who put together my order for the other lumber I needed said they had 1400 left when he started his shift.

  6. Questions about road flares

Also, nothing grabs a person's attention quite like actual fire.
  7. Questions about road flares

It's amusing to read the reviews. The most common complaint is that these battery-operated devices...require batteries.
  8. Questions about road flares

    Sounds like a plan!
  9. Questions about road flares

On my way home last night I stopped to help a guy who got his car stuck halfway in a ditch. Nothing too exciting, but now I need to get some new flares for my emergency kit and I've got a couple questions: 1) How frequently should traditional flares be replaced? I realized that my flares were...
  10. SHROCKWORKS out of business?

I was sort of joking when I suggested it, but... Is it just lack of capital that's holding you back? Maybe you can find someone willing to mentor you through putting together a business plan, and use that to get financing? On the other hand, if you have no interest in running a business, then...
  11. SHROCKWORKS out of business?

You feeling entrepreneurial? You clearly know your stuff when it comes to fabricating kick ass aftermarket accessories, and rumor has it that there's a new hole in the market. and I'll bet there's a shop space not far from you that the landlord is looking for a new tenant. Just sayin...
  12. SHROCKWORKS out of business?

After reading this thread, I'm going to have to firmly disagree with you. By all accounts, they made a really good product. However, even in the best of times, their communication was terrible to nonexistent and their timelines completely unreliable, and then in the end they leave everybody...

Just wanted to add a visual to Dave's comments about CD rates. We use Ally as our primary bank. Here's the 12-month CD rates they've offered over the past year.
  15. 2014 Escape -> 2023 Ranger.. right move?

Looks like you've gotten some good input, but here my two cents: 1. We had 3 kids (oldest was 7) when I got my Ranger. Yes, the crew cab fits three kids in the back, with caveats. We were using 2 carseats and a booster, and the carseats were the very basic Cosco Sceneras. It would not have fit...
  16. Ranger 5 Shortfalls

I switched from Gatorade to Jack Daniels. The square bottles don't roll around even when not it a cup holder.
  17. Anyone know what this button is for?

That's what the squid launcher button is for, isn't it? https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/squid-launcher-button.15644/
  18. Anyone know what this button is for?

You might want to check how they spliced into the factory wiring before you let them off the hook. Some people have posted pictures of hack jobs that look like I did it.
  19. Dealership + Warranty Claims experience

My one warranty repair (replacement of parking brake boot) was absolutely smooth and painless. I've since moved so will be contacting a different dealer about a battery replacement; we'll see how that goes.
  20. 2021 Ford Ranger oil analysis Part 2

I had potassium read high on one of my reports. The folks from Blackstone said while potassium can be a marker for coolant, they didn't suspect a leak because sodium (another coolant marker) stayed low. In my report, aluminum was also on the high side, and they said that potassium and aluminum...
