  1. Merry Christmas 2020 Y'all !

Well that's certainly setting the bar low!
  2. Lighted Shifter Bezel?

According to this thread, removing the shifter backlight was a running change implemented in July 2020. My 2019 XL lights up, but I actually didn't notice this until members started bringing up that theirs didn't.
  3. What the hell is wrong with Amazon and/or USPS?

Our regular mail lady is fantastic! The folks who work the counter at the local post office...not so much.
  4. What the hell is wrong with Amazon and/or USPS?

I recently sent Blackstone an oil sample for analysis using one of their 1st Class Postage Paid mailers. I'm a little over 100 miles from the Blackstone lab. It took over 2 weeks for the package to get there. Granted, that included Thanksgiving, but 2 weeks to go 100 miles is not exactly "1st...
  5. Mouse house in my 2019 glove compartment

Here's a thread where a member caught a rat in the cab: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/rat-caught-in-cab-of-truck.10127/
  6. Fuel in oil engine build date

Why should it be in the hashed area? Owners manual specifies that it should between the two holes.
  7. Fuel in oil

Just got the report back on my second oil change. (Aside: USPS certainly took their sweet time to deliver it to them) 1% fuel dilution on this sample, compared to 6% on my previous oil change. Three things that I think definitely could have contributed to the improvement: 1) Break-in. Perhaps...
  8. Fuel in oil

If you mean literally burning, than no it won't burn off (or if it will, you've got bigger problems to worry about). But the fuel will start to evaporate out of the oil when you apply a little heat. The same principle is in action down in Lynchburg when those fine folks are doing their distilling.
  9. Fuel in oil

Thankfully this is incorrect. The fuel hydrocarbons are more volatile, so they more readily move into the gas phase, even out of a mixture.
  10. Fuel in oil

$30, and they provide the container and the shipping label to get the sample to them. EDIT to add: If you want TBN, that's an extra charge.
  11. Deer hunting the expensive way with my '19 Ranger Lariat FX4

My dad was cutting hay for an acquaintance once and severely injured a deer that was hiding in the tall grass. He was carrying a pistol (my dad, not the deer), so he was able to put the deer out of its misery. He was hesitant to do it however, since the acquaintance was none other than the...
  12. Deer hunting the expensive way with my '19 Ranger Lariat FX4

Glad you're ok! Around Thanksgiving, we had a local body shop advertising a "Hit a deer, get a turkey" promotion. No joke, if you picked them to repair damage from colliding with a deer, they would give you a free turkey!
  13. Engine cover

When I bought my first vehicle, the sales guy sent my dad and I on the test drive without him. As we were pulling back into the dealership, my dad told me that I needed to kick the tires and look under the hood. I asked him why, and he told me he didn't know, but both were things you definitely...
  14. What kind of mud flaps is everyone using.

What does the installation entail? I haven't spent my Fordpass points yet, and this might be just the thing to use them on.
  15. Engine cover

    Information about this here: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/solved-engine-shroud-cover-missing-on-xl-and-xlt-trims.1563/
  16. Parts.Ford.Com

Personally I would have preferred the OEM, as I think it looks better how it's sort of integrated into the bumper. Once I started seeing the trouble that people were having getting it installed, however, it was an easy choice for me to place the order for the Drawtite instead.
  17. Parts.Ford.Com

OEM hitch is significantly more troublesome to install than the Curt or Drawtite aftermarket ones. Several threads on this.
  18. Parts.Ford.Com

Actual prices will vary from dealer to dealer. My local dealer sells all their accessories for more than MSRP, while another one about an hour away sells for below MSRP. However, the fact that they lied to you about the website (Never seen it? Not a real Ford site? C'mon!) is completely...
  19. DIY City Slicker Bed Cover

Go for it! And of course, report back on how the project goes. For a lock, one thing I looked at was using a locking latch for a topper. Quite a few options available online that might be worth considering.
  20. Supercab Carseat even possible?

Probably going to depend on the carseat, as they vary in size by a considerable amount. Do you currently have a carseat? Or are you simply thinking long-term? If the former, take your carseat in to the dealership and try fitting it in (if the dealership won't allow this, find another...
