While putting some rear blocks on the leaf springs I noticed there is an extra shim on the driver side. Is this normal or is it missing one on the passenger side?
I just put it back together the way it was as I wondered if the truck was maybe not balanced equally so the factory did that to...
Here's the before and after pics (pre-rear block)
And the head-on
Tires are BFG TA KO2 in LT255/75R17 (32.1"), they have excellent clearance with no modifications to trim or crash bars.
I got the Ford Performance shocks installed today
I've got a LEER topper on it already so I wanted to see how that affected rake with a full tank of gas.
Front
Rear
It measures almost perfectly level, but the sensation from the drivers seat is that I'm driving uphill everywhere I go...
@Jason@Stage3, thanks for your continued support here and answering all our questions. That's the reason I've got an order coming from you right now of some rear 1" blocks. Keep it up!
My Ford kit is on order through the dealer. I also have a Leer topper so I ordered some rear 1" blocks so I'll have them in case the rake is ruined by the weight of the topper. I like a small amount of rake anyway, just my tastes I guess. I'll post pics after install.
My hope is the narrower tread will allow me to keep the crash bars that wouldn't fit with the 285s. Another guy here did the 255 tires with no lift, but could hardly put a BIC lighter in the gap. I'm afraid it's too narrow for my offroading, but hope the lift will help make up the difference. I...
Please tell me I'm not crazy and these should fit!
I ordered 255/75R17 in TA KO2 to go with the 2" Ford lift. From what I can find here, I'll be okay... But please tell me if I'm wrong so I can go a different route.
For reference...
265/65R17 (stock) = 30 1/2”
265/70R17 = 31 1/2"
255/75R17 = 32"
@j0shm1lls I contacted Levittown, thx for the tip.
Has anybody had dealer install the kit? Wondering how much they charged since I know I can do it myself but it looks like dealer-install is required to maintain warranty. Just wondering if it is worth it or not.
Wow, we've had totally different experiences in snow with Duratracs. I've run them on an F-150, F-250, and currently on an Explorer Sport Trac with a Supercharger . I feel they're too soft for the Super Duty, but love them on the other trucks. This pic is from last week after hunting in...
