  1. AGM battery reliability

A few folks here need to spend some time here: https://batteryuniversity.com/ Even on the first page there are two errors about maintaining an AGM battery.
  2. Ecoboost, coolant in cylinders 2 or 3

If you looked hard enough, you would have found the YouTube video, on how Ford fixed the issue. The used a drilled passage, rather then a milled one. When they made the change in production units, was in late 2018, as I recall. The new version 2.3L EcoBoost is similar, but not exactly like the...
  3. Mileage calculated while in park?

To echo the sentiment... What the hell difference does it make? Being obsessed with gas mileage, is like counting strokes—as long as you get where you're going, it doesn't matter!
  4. Rearview Cameras Active When Driving

It may come as a surprise, but it is possible to use the info screen to view the rear cam. Unfortunately, it requires more than a simple switch. It also voids the warranty, if that is a real issue.
  5. What year is this?

I wasn't quick enough on the draw! By the time I got out my iPhone out he was gone. I did capture the truck on my rear viewing dash camera. Unfortunately, the view is obscured by another PU truck.
  6. What year is this?

Well, it sported a paper plate, and looked brand new! I did contact my dealer salesperson (also sales manager), and he did not sell the Ranger in question. Next time, I'll photograph it!
  7. What year is this?

I posted this on the Ranger6G site, with little success. here it is: I was waiting on a lunch friend at Dion's in south Roswell, NM this noon (yesterday). I noticed a Ranger pull into the parking lot of a business next door. It was silver in color, had an FX4 decal on the rear bed side, and...
  8. Front Seat Jackers

I've owned over 25 vehicles over the years, and the seats in the Ranger are as good as any, and better than most. In any case, I've never needed to raise anything, save for Hell!

  10. Not a Ranger, but dealer pricing games info.

Wouldn't it be nice, if we could tell our employers, this is what you'll pay me, as in no ifs ands or buts! That just isn't going to happen, but price gouging certainly will remain. However, contrary to popular belief, not all dealers do this. To be sure, Ford's efforts to eliminate dealer...
  11. 20 years Retired.

I've been retired 22 years. If I've learned anything since, is is simply this. Do whatever it takes to keep yourself happy. If you're happy, then those around you will be too. And your requisite chores will be just that, instead of more work!
  12. Not a Ranger, but dealer pricing games info.

Ask yourself a few questions: Why do you think Ford adopted their new marketing strategy? As in, two separate companies within a company—Electrics and ICEs? And while they were at it, revised the buying process with respect to dealer Market Adjustments? If you want an example of Market...
  13. New route for dash cam cables

I've been using a dash cam since 2003. I have always used a top windshield-mounted unit, and have always routed the wiring down the passenger "A" pillar. And the rear cam wiring through the right overhead side moulding. In the 7 vehicles I've owned since, all allowed the aforementioned...
  14. Ranger rear end problems.

You could always go to the trouble I did... I wanted (and still do) a third member with either clutched or torque sensing gearing. The only way to do this, is replace the complete rear end housing and all. What you get is a replaceable third member (a very good thing), and just about any gear...
  15. Hit by a deer @ 65mph

Here is what could have happened:
  16. Hit by a deer @ 65mph

    Wow! Almost a total!
  17. Lets talk tires... and weight

    Michelin LTs are my choice.
  18. Passenger side air vents are warmer than driver side (both set to sync on low)

Messed up firmware? Just this morning, with the outside temp 24°, and out of the blue, the HVAC switched to heat out the top vents, right in my face! And just as mysterious, 5 minutes later, it switched back1 It was either Ford's programming, or a Poltergeist!
