Ford Ranger Automatic (radar assisted - it works) Braking System saves the day!
A female driver, without looking, shot across the highway, in front
of my Ford Ranger. I slammed on the brakes but the automictic braking system also
took over and applied the proper amount of braking assist. My...
Sorta off topic but duh - trucks, especially the Ford Ranger, have a center of gravity higher than most cars therefore the running boards will prevent dings from careless motorist. Having running boards with blunt acorn nuts have prevented door dings on my Ranger for over two years! You have...
A little more detail but it is somewhat complex ... In the second picture (above), you can see the wiring (two wires) going from the blue relay to the "hacked" smart outlet WiFI plug from Feit Electric (in the third picture - below) When the Doppler Radar Microwave Motion Sensor picks up motion...
DIY Doppler Radar Microwave Motion Sensor for outside Ford Ranger security.
My garage is too small and cluttered to park my Ranger inside so I chose to leave it outside in the elements. The garage door is made of fiber/wood material so I came up with the idea to shoot a Doppler radar microwave...
No - My "plain Jane" XL has nothing on it.
BLIS was extra $$$
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) can alert you to a vehicle detected alongside and difficult to see in a blind spot. 10 The system uses radar sensors on both sides near the rear of the vehicle.
Meh is designed to be rude and dismissive - a sure-fire conversation-stopper. Users of the word are unequivocal in their total indifference to what is being discussed.
Works fine with my XL and I still have my color bars on my backup cam.
I cannot see where the backup cam has anything to do with the trailer plug.
BTW - What lightbar are you using?
Never thought to use an inverter made for a boat in a motor vehicle.
Good find -plus it has a true sinewave output - I will bet it would cost hundreds of dollars :)
You just destroyed your coolant system and air intake on your engine. Get ready to call the tow truck to take your vehicle to the junk yard. FMC will void your warranty
BTW if Bluto would eat spinach he could carry his vehicle to the junk yard :)
Just maybe Ford fixed the problem and found extra room on your vehicle. :)
Like I said "mine was jammed" and I am trying to determine if it was just my vehicle which I don't believe is the case. Getting parts for my XL vehicle, from Ford, takes forever and I like to error on the side of caution...
Was the coolant hose in the way? (Mine was jammed against the coolant return - see pic above)
My removal procedure only takes 2 minutes to perform and prevents any possible hose/connection failure. Very little effort was performed and after all it's only have to been done every 30K.
Did you...
