They don't make vehicles like they use to. What was the size of the hail that caused this much damage? Sounds like in Colorado you need a Norad bunker to protect your vehicle. The hail, in Ohio, normally is < moth ball size.

All you really need is top cab protection, windshield and hood protection. Using a non abrasive cloth on the sides might do the job. Hail normally does not travel sideways but straight up/down.

Inexpensive? I was thinking of using "special" pool noodles to cushion the impact and special non abrasive cloth covering.
