Ok, I decided to not wait until tomorrow and do the big unveiling tonight:
I also finished "hacking The Matrix". I didn't do much with FORScan, but I did enough:
- Deactivated Auto Start / Stop
- Enabled Fog Lights w/ High Beams
- Activated Noise Canceling (I have no idea why this isn't on...
My OBDLink EX FORScan adapter came today, as well as my tailgate insert letters. I'm going to head back out after dinner to hack the computer and install the lettering. I'll post pics of the lettering tomorrow. That will probably be all that I do until I get back from vacation.
I have a...
Did a couple of basic things today:
- OEM hood struts installed
- Ignition bezel 3D printed and installed
- TurboSmart Kompact EM Plumb Back BPV installed
I ran into a small gotcha with the cap screws that came with the BPV. I ended up having to use the stock bolts.
We're starting with this:
Factory options:
- 302A
- Technology Package
- FX4 Off-Road Package
- Black Appearance Package
- All Weather Mats
- Splash Guards/Mud Flaps
- Trailer Tow Package
- Hard Folding Tonneau Cover
Things it should have come with but will add:
- Ignition Bezel
- Hood Struts...
Well, I hate the raked look and I don’t tow that often. When I do it’s a small trailer with a mower on it or an aluminum fishing boat. If I need to tow something bigger I’d most likely install load boosters or something in the rear to keep the truck level. I’m leaning more towards the 2” kit...
Has anyone installed this?

If so, what are your thoughts? So far, the absolute best I've heard is the AWE, followed by the Borla system. I like that the AWE is a true 3" system (Borla is 2.75"). It...
Without going all tech support, it definitely sounds like a browser issue. Maybe disable JavaScript or something. I'd try copying and pasting into another browser. It's cool that you're so close. I'm hoping to organize a SE PA meetup once the weather gets nicer.
It sounds like your dad, my dad (RIP), and my father-in-law would get along great! My father-in-law is a die hard Ford guy and ex-mechanic (worked on police cars for years). My dad was a true gearhead and a former drag racer (I built a Chevy 350 small block with him when I was 14).
I figured I would start this thread so that people can add to it as they come across 3D printable items for our Rangers. I know the ignition bezels are popular, but I'm thinking of things like phone holders, pen holders, tray organizers, and the like, as well. I will say, one of the cool...
I'm looking at this kit https://www.americantrucks.com/max-trac-ranger-250-inch-front-leveling-kit-833825-4.html. I see it comes with differential drop spacers. This is something I don't see on most of the other kits I'm looking at, mainly larger lifts. I'm going to be going no more than 2.5"...
So far, the only two options I've seen out there to replace the intercooler piping are the aFe kit and the Mishimoto kit. Mountune offers new silicone connectors with their intercooler kit, but leaves the stock piping. As metal is prone to heat soak, I've always preferred to use silicone for...
So, I downloaded FORScan to my laptop. After it failing to connect, I started reading the site and it looks like they're basically not supporting ELM327 units anymore... .
After today, I can confirm that it doesn't work with the boost sensors on our Rangers. I pulled the top shroud off the front of the engine bay today and the connector for the boost sensor on the intercooler piping is completely different.
I got an autostop deactivator and just need to install it. I already have the pre-collision assist (I'm assuming that's "Bambi mode") and I always drive with my lights on (including the fog lights). I have an ELM327 bluetooth unit. I've been using "Car Scanner" to read boost, MAP, A/F ratio...
Nope, no folding mirrors on the 302A. It must be another Lariat only option. I imagine with some Ford parts and a bit of work, they could be retrofitted. It wouldn’t surprise me if the connectors are all there. I really could use them, as I only have about an inch on each side when pulling...
