***UPDATE***
I finally heard back from K+N after harassing them by phone. Not a word about the pictures I sent or what they can do for me, just a long form to fill out . The amount of documentation they want is ridiculous. Fortunately, I still have the original receipt in my e-mail from...
With the Cordova, since it's made for the Mustang, what work did you have to do to make it work with the Ranger? I was looking at that, but was wary because it doesn't say "Ranger".
As far as the airflow goes, I have the Roush intake, CVF Intercooler and CVF charge pipes. The throttle body is...
Isnāt it about time someone released a 65mm throttle body for our trucks? Iām running out of bolt-ons for my ā22 and basically have done everything save for changing out the downpipe and exhaust (saving for last). I saw the boomba TB spacer/intake manifold spacer combo, but I feel like for the...
I called K+N today. Essentially, they told me it takes up to 3 days for their tech support to look at my e-mail with the pictures and respond. At this point, I donāt want a replacement. I have the Roush intake upgrade on the way and will use the stock bottom half of the airbox with that. The...
The filter was laying loose in the bottom of the airbox when I opened it. Thatās why itās worn. Who knows how longā¦it could have been not long after the last time I checked it 10k miles ago.
No response from my e-mail to K+N yet. Iām about to call them.
I definitely didnāt overtighten them. To me, it looks like the vibration and movement of the engine stressed the plastic. Thereās little to no give where the intake connects to the intake pipe when installed. Hence, anywhere something could flex, it did, with failure being the result.
I opened up my K+N airbox today to clean and re-oil my filter. Imagine my surprise when this is what I found!
I can only describe it as a complete structural failure of the airbox. Almost every point that had a bolt or connector going through it has failed. For the life of me, I have no...
Looks like the hot side was easy (removing the air box, as you said). What about the cold side install, any access issues / things that needed to be removed?
Reminds me of a "show truck" that used to be around these parts. The guy took a stock Ranger (mid -90s IIRC), then put on a big a pro stock hood scoop, aluminum rear wing, a wheelie bar, 3" tires up front and 18" road huggers in the back. It legit looked like a drag truck...until he started it...
Does anyone have part numbers for the rear seat delete kit and the cargo hatches that cover the cubbies? Iāve been trying all manner of searches on levittownfordparts.com and canāt find them!
Exactly. I have an 87 tune and 93 tune from Unleashed. Since gas is rediculous right now, I was comparing the 87 to 87. I did try the 93 and saw a little bump in performance. The numbers just arenāt what I was expecting compared to what others are getting. I starting to think Iām going to...
Thanks! Good to know. Iāve had more than a few 4/AWD vehicles and this definitely doesnāt feel normal, especially given my experience with the Dakota (was a piece of crap by the way!)
Soā¦Iām looking for some insight into this. I feel like I have what amounts to some driveline āslopā. Iām not sure if this is normal on these trucks, or this is a start to bigger problems. I had a 2006 Dakota that ended up having to have the drive shaft and rear end replaced after similar...
