This may be good information, but the format of the video seems suspicious. When I searched for "youtube channel "truck authority report" is it ai" I got the following response:
>Based on the content structure, naming conventions, and common practices in the automotive YouTube niche, the...
I was recently getting the same message and my ASS had stopped working (not that there’s anything wrong with that). A new battery fixed both issues.
Make sure you reset the BMS after installing the new battery.
I have the same tires in the stock size. Used them in some snow and towed our trailer with them. Seems to be a good compromise for on- and occasional off-road use.
I've been very happy with our ARE CX Evolve cap. Bought it soon after we purchased the truck and have had no issues. At the time I bought it, I think it was the only option for the 6' bed.
I agree...it's painful, especially since I had to do it three times. I neglected to slide the hose locking clips into position during the original installation. Didn't realize it until we were towing our trailer and got about 15 miles from home. Engine started running really rough when one of...
Very interesting. I thought my putting the truck in gear was starting the charging cycle. Didn’t realize it was the brake pedal application that triggered it. Good to know.
I’ve had this question myself as I almost always park head in. It’s just easier and takes less time for me. A friend who has a large full size pickup always backs in. I asked him why and he had what I thought was a good answer. The overhang in the back is much longer than the front overhang, so...
Four Lariat wheels and Hankook tires with steel-wheel spare in great condition. I got these from another member to use for winter snow tires but we decided not to move and we no longer need them. They are at my brother's place in Arlington, about an hour north of Seattle.
We've towed our 2019 1995 over 18,000 miles with our 2020 Ranger. Travelled all over the west including over Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado (almost 11,000'). No issues. We use an Equalizer WDH hitch.
The 1995 tends to run light on tongue weight, so I suggest you get a tongue weight scale to keep...
Be careful which fuse you tap into. I initially tapped into a fuse that was always on and had a dead battery a couple of days later. I think I eventually tapped into fuse 35.
The attached info was very helpful. I don't remember where I got it (this forum?), but I can't find it now.
I've got the Bridgestones at about 36K and am due for replacements. 18K of that has been towing a 5700 lb travel trailer. If I wasn't towing regularly I probably wait until 40K to replace them. Tires rotated with the oil change every 5K.
You are correct. I didn't realize they were supposed to protect the hood too, although based on some of the other responses that protection appears to be minimal. Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm curious and I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, but what is your goal in installing one of these? Obviously you want to protect the paint on the front of the hood. But why? With the deflector installed you can't even see that part of your truck. Do you think the truck looks better...
That makes sense. You still have to unhook but you could do that remotely and not tie up the scale. Curt Mfg confirms your suggestion - https://www.curtmfg.com/trailer-parts/couplers/learn-more
As far as I know, the only way to get tongue weight at a CAT scale would be to unhook and only weigh the tongue. I suspect that would be discouraged. Is that what you’re suggesting or am I missing something?
I just replaced my parking brake boot with the Redline boot (very nice upgrade). I had previously noticed that the brake was a bit loose so during the boot replacement I tightened up the cable a bit.
I was surprised to see that I could tighten the nut by hand. There is no locking feature or jam...
