Awesome! Does the hood open ok? Did you go through the firewall and put a switch in the cabin?

I've been hammering my own brackets out of metal for a long time. I've got a selection of heavy rubber mallets and a couple bench mounted vices. You should see me trying to get a race fairing to fit on a race bike that it doesn't want to fit on. Custom brackets everywhere!

Looks good and a great way to save cash. That’s really all a lot of the brackets you can buy premade are anyways!

Let me think about this and I will get back to you for sure
Seconding this. I've been looking at a few small mounted lights like that, but I do not fancy getting into the hood at all...

For those asking, I am willing to make some more brackets,

Full disclosure/question I use a spray can of textured bed liner from rustolium to paint them. It is cold here and after 24 hrs of drying out side the paint still chipped a little when I installed, not enough to notice to I left it. If i made them would ya'll want them raw metal or painted? (p.s. I would not take the time to get them powder coated, also i feel like that is 60% of the cost of the others I see online)

I'm fine with raw metal. I'd be painting them myself to match the color of the truck anyways!

I made mine as well with some random metal pieces that I had. Flattened the metal, made cuts, painted and installed them in between the hood and hood hinge.

I like the way you made the bracket, as I look at mine I wish they were a little closer to the hood, I initially wanted to a little higher and after getting out there a few time and playing with them I realized the extra 2 inches isn't worth it

Mine were able to just clear. After I installed them, I had to force twist them a bit because of the angle of the hood. I should have made them a little longer to give them more space between the hood and bracket.
