I understand it will be a EV platform if built. I'm guessing probably using the new EV Forester drivetrain.
I think both a "regular" engine and a hybrid....but everything is just a guess.
Wife is on her 4th Subi Outback and I have owned 3 in the past, including an Outback Turbo.
When time comes if we're not towing anymore and camper and Expedition are gone, and it is available, thats the way I would go....looking at maybe another 2 years and than downsizing.....

I hope they take my advice and go full ev with a high efficiency solar panel roll up bed cover option that could supply enough electric to go forever on sunny days and recharge itself on sunny days also for remote locations. I'll be right behind you inline. We love my wife's Forester and it got the yearly wash today

The thing that amazes me is no 303 required for the black trim. Just wash it and still like new after 4 years with no treatment at all

Wonder what type of UV resistant plastic they use for trim in Japan because I've seen the US made Outbacks that are faded but none of the Foresters that still come from Japan.

Thanks!

I'm not really interested in a 6G though. It's too big. I find the 5G already a bit too big.

Regarding the hybrid AWD, there are no bargains yet to be found on those. This one is a new 2025 leftover so it has a big discount.

The sticker on this truck is $42K+. There is NO WAY this truck is worth $42K. If you look closely, you can clearly see where costs are being cut on it.

I would LOVE a new Baja..

I had a Baja Turbo and would be first in line for a new one.

And the 10R80 issues pale compared to the DCT issues of the Santa Cruz.
DCT not the only issue the Santa Cruz which Hyundai reportedly is ceasing production in 2026. It has not sold well - for obvious reasons.

Don't get me wrong, the Maverick wasn't bad and there were some things I genuinely liked better than my Ranger, MPG and noise level being the top 2.

It just wasn't $8k better.

Part of me says that the lifetime warranty would help overlook any of things I like less, since that $8k is about what my transmission rebuild would have been if I hadn't had the warranty. And I no longer have warranty.

There is certainly an appeal to simply doing the maintenance and not worrying about major mechanical issues later on.

$8K is a good chunk of $$ but that lifetime warranty might have sold me on it. lol But at the end of the day you have to be the one who’s happy and it’s always good to get others opinions in case you’re not seeing things clearly. The big bonus was being able to take it home and drive it. I wish you could do that with a house seeing as that's the largest investment one will make and yet you just get "walk" through it and hopefully see everything you need to see.

Guy, I work with has a, I believe XL Maverick 2021
He loves it close to a 100k on it.
Personally, I think they are a little small.

Those LT warranties, are they only good at the dealer you buy from?
I'm think of using the dealer bought my and they are offering those.
Problem is, said dealer is at least 2 hours away.

Depends on the dealer so read the fine print.

This one was nationwide.
