That’s a lot but still, I don’t fully believe anything I see online anymore. Just the other day I googled “most reliable trucks 2020s”. F150, Chevy 1500, Ram 2500 came up in the top 10 list. Just now I googled “most unreliable trucks 2020s”. Those same trucks popped up in the same order… I think recall numbers and reliability ratings for vehicles are subject to which website you’re looking at. Seems like you can’t just get a flat number from an unbiased source.

For what it’s worth, aside from the known 10r80 issues, gen 5 rangers (specifically 2021-2023) score fairly high across the board in reliability ratings. With proper maintenance and good driving habits, they’re expected to last 200-300k miles. While I take that with a grain of salt, it makes me feel better about choosing to buy a ranger. At least I know that once I get the transmission repaired, I should get another 10-15 years out her. Hopefully anyway!

Ford has issued two separate recall campaigns affecting roughly 1.74 million vehicles in the United States after discovering software issues that can interfere with rearview camera operation.

The first recall covers approximately 889,950 vehicles, including the 2020–2022 Ford Escape, 2020–2024 Ford Explorer, 2020–2022 Lincoln Corsair, and 2020–2024 Lincoln Aviator. In these models, a startup communication error involving the touchscreen controller can cause the center display interface to appear inverted.

A second recall affects about 849,310 vehicles, including the 2021–2026 Ford Bronco and 2021–2024 Ford Edge. In these models, the issue is related to heat buildup inside the infotainment hardware.
