I delivered many a news paper on one of those. Mine was not near that fancy, just bare bone Firestone brand, but it got the job done. And it didn't take much change to get those soft drinks. 10 cents would buy one. They were usually 12.5 oz not 20 like today. It is no coincidence that none of those kids have an ounce of fat on them, unlike today. Before the paper routt, spending money usually came from riding along the road picking up empty bottles and turning them in for the "core charge" .I had a Schwinn like that with the banana seat and shifter in the middle and chopper style forks. lol Boy were we cool!
