What’s up Ranger Nation!

Let’s be real: the factory halogens on our trucks turn night driving into a guessing game. Whether you’re dodging potholes on a backroad or facing down a semi’s high beams, proper LED low beams are a safety upgrade – not just a mod. Next I will recommend low beam bulb upgrades that will fit the 2019-2024 Rangers! No flickering, no glare, just light that works.

⚠ FIRST: Match Your Ranger’s Bulb Size!
Model YearLow Beam BulbCritical Notes
2024H7Check manual! New gen may differ
2021-2023H11XL/XLT only (Lariat uses projector)
2019-2020H11All trims
? Pro Tip: Pop your hood NOW and snap a pic of the original bulb. 5 seconds saves a 30-day return hassle!

? The LED Lineup: Ranger-Tested & Street-Legal
Y19 Series: THE NIGHT SUN
The Deal: Want maximum visibility without illegal glare? These use precision optics to blast 200% more light ON THE ROAD – not into oncoming windshields.
Ranger-Ready Perks:
→ 24,000LM super bright output
→ -40°F to 248°F operating range (Alaska winters to Arizona summers)
→ Dust/waterproof connectors (survives muddy job sites)
Best For: Rural drivers, night-shift workers, anyone with unlit commutes.

Y13 Series: THE SHARP SHOOTER
The Deal: Laser-focused beam that hits EXACTLY where you need it. No scatter, no hot spots, just clean light for rainy highways.
Ranger-Ready Perks:
→ Engineered for H11 reflector housings (zero glare guarantee)
→ Zero radio interference (keeps Sync 4/SiriusXM happy)
→ 50,000-hour lifespan
Best For: Highway warriors, foggy coastal drivers, perfectionists.

M3 Series: THE STEALTH UPGRADE
The Deal: 1:1 factory size = 5-minute install. Looks stock, performs like a $500 kit.
Ranger-Ready Perks:
→ Fits factory dust covers (no cutting/modding!)
→ True plug-n-play (no resistors/error codes)
→ Balanced 6,000K white – bright but not "blue ticket-magnet"
Best For: Lease returns, warranty worriers, quick DIY wins.

? 3 MUST-DO Steps for Ranger Owners
ADJUST YOUR BEAMS
→ Park 25ft from a wall → Low beams should sit BELOW hood height.
→ Blog guide: "LED Aiming" (same procedure)
KILL THE GLARE
→ Avoid "foggy" lenses – polish them first with a $10 kit!
→ NEVER use 8,000K+ blue bulbs – they scatter light AND attract cops.
WATERPROOF CONNECTORS
→ Smear dielectric grease on plugs → stops corrosion from road salt.

Which One’s For You?
  • Need MAX RANGE on dark roads? → Y19
  • Want CRISP BEAMS & ZERO FUSS? → Y13
  • Prioritize STEALTH & SPEED? → M3

✅ All kits: CANbus-ready (no hyperflash), 2-year warranty, made for Ranger reflector housings.

Which of these are short enough that you can get the cover back on the driver's side low beam? XLT Tremor. The front edge of the inner fender apron is very close to the back of the bulb. Tight space to get the cover back on & the outer part of it is slanted. Only the center part of the cover has the full depth to it. Just tried installing a Sylvania LED bulb that requires 1.5 inches of clearance. Could not get the cover in between the back of the bulb & the fender apron. Had to return them.

The previous owner of my truck must have upgraded to LEDs because that is what was in there & it only worked when it felt like it. Total length of that bulb is 3 inches (from tip of bulb area to bottom of base) & it fits fine. Has the connector coming out 90 ° off the side, no pigtail.

I had the GTR CSP Mini's & it was tight, but was able to put the dust cover back on, on my 2022 stock halogen headlamp housings.

I first replaced just the low beams. They have adjustment screws that lets you play around with the angles & it cleaned up the beam quite a bit, almost to factory level. They are really bright, so I do recommend pointing them down little lower.

They were expensive, but very reliable. I only recently replaced them with complete LED headlight assemblies, because after something like 3 years later, on this roadtrip I was using the high beam for extended period of time, I noticed low beam would cut out sometimes. After the road trip, they were working just fine again, so I think it does have issues with extended use of high beams(also same LED bulbs). Almost forgot to mention, there was one more downside: Light was not complete white, it had slight blue hue to it which I didn't care for.

Googled those bulbs & it looks exactly like what was in there. The wires coming of the inside end of the blade connectors is skinny & flimsy, 1 seems to be missing completely, & the black capsule shaped piece of plastic that the connectors pass through is not anchored into the housing in any way & pulled loose trying to disconnect it. Poor quality.

Oh, okay. I installed them back in 2022 & while I was happy with how everything looked, I honestly don't remember in detail. I've had zero quality issue though, except for the high-beam thing I mentioned. I was in middle of nowhere & had high beams on for many miles since there weren't any other vehicles around.
