I would come to that if it weren't so far away. I would bring a couple of slabs of Australian beer, that would get things going!
Good thinking Cam. @DukeCanBuildit and I are already stocking up a couple of trailers and our Rangers with proper Canadian beers, and I'm having some shipped in from Belgium and Germany, too. You bring on over some Aussie samples, and those poor Bud Light drinkers just won't know what hit them.

This is the beer menu we're currently working on

We arrived here around 12:30 pm Thursday and they delivered the ABF truck around 5 pm. Even being up since 1:30 am and dead tired I couldn't wait to get it opened and start unloading some things. Got about half of it done using a flashlight inside the trailer and made a point to get the mattress off because no way I wanted to sleep another night on the air mattress again. lol

Now we have boxes everywhere (it's like a maze in here) and I can't hardly put anything away because they're coming tomorrow to redo the master & pantry closets along with templating the kitchen and hall bath countertops. Then of course I have to paint them and let it dry so another week then some areas should be done. We have great neighbors and the weathers been perfect with days in the mid 80's and nights in the mid 50's and 22% humidity. I guess I'm a desert rat after all! :tumbleweed: 🌵🦂

Truck looks better out front here. 😁

I almost had a stroke when I took down the bulkhead and saw this. I had it strapped down and secured tight so not sure what the driver(s) were doing. Luckily so far the only thing that was broken was a pair of lamp shades that were old and I had just thrown in there unboxed so no loss there.

@Chris M remember the pictures I showed you when I wrapped the coffee and end tables. Good thing I went a little overboard because those were stacked up on top of the two mattresses and were now off to the side and back behind them. There was only one small knick the size of a pen tip which I can touch up easily. :whew:

Finished up unloading early Friday morning and it was good to get it emptied out and done with. The ramp is the biggest PITA folding it and trying to get it up over the lip and pushing it back in by yourself at the end. 😴

Great idea, when I was over in north eastern Canada a few months ago we spent an hour or two in a craft brewery (Charlotte Town) and were forced to taste about 20 different beers, it was awful :giggle:
Canadian beer is pretty bloody good!

I would probably bring some of this (6.7% alcohol)

Id be talking to ABF about that. I know you have pics pre-bulkhead to compare with post-bulkhead pics. I've pulled a buttload of pup trailers in my life, and that just screams rough behavior by someone.

But yeah, good to have you home!

Cam, were you at the Gahan brewery when you were in Charlottetown, by any chance?

They make some fine beer. I think I miss that most after selling my cottage there. Well, that and fresh lobster.

Thanks brother, it really does feel like home!

I was going to call the main ABF number tomorrow and let them know about the delivery. I know stuff can shift but this is way more than that. I think I even told you the first day I loaded a lot of stuff myself and the second day when my helper arrived I didn't like one area and tore it all down to make sure it was secured better. I have good pictures showing how well it was secured with stuff wedge up to the ceiling and all the ratchet straps from side to side. This was the 3rd time I've used them to move and the 2 others nothing moved an inch so you're right in that it must have been rough behavior by one of the drivers. I'm just grateful nothing important was broken but they should still know about it.

Yeah, everyone thinks of us Canadians as nice and polite, but we have our dark side

No PEI if I remember correctly. Remembering correctly is a little difficult.

My fault. PEI Brewing makes the Gahan line of beers - I thought it was a separate brewery.

I really like their Red Ale and Blueberry Wheat Beer.

They also make Beach Chair Lager.

Yep that's it, I just remembered the big tin shed! Tried all of those and more, once they discovered we were Aussies they just kept bringing more, I'm sure that we ended up drinking way more than we originally purchased. You're right the red ale and the wheat were excellent.

Red Ale please.
Their Island Red Ale is great - you’d like it Steve. I’m not sure if it pays homage to the red soil, beaches and cliffs on the island, but maybe. The soil is high in iron and oxidizes a dark reddish brown. You can see the red sand beach in the foreground and the red cliffs in the background.

Here, you can see the red sandstone cliffs closer up.

Been here a week now (boy time flies!) and got quite a bit done. Master closet only had one shelf and pole on 3 walls which wouldn't hold 1/3 of Annies cloths. That was torn out and had a double set put up along with a set of cubbies for each of us. It was MDF and came in unprimed so that needed 3 coats (man I haven't had to sand anything in 10 years!) and finished the pantry and linen closets so now we can finally start putting some stuff away. Got all the baseboards painted today so the walls can get started next week.

My other neighbor to the right stopped by this morning with some fresh baked scone (cinnamon/maple) for us. 😍 A nice welcome to the neighborhood and yes, they were gone 5 minutes after she left. lol

When we were here back in September I had one guy quote me $4,800 just for the master closet. o_O For that price I would've bought all the tools and done them myself but luckily I found this other guy who was 1/4 of the price. wasn't going to get all crazy like the one we just built because it's just a closet and once she fills it you wont see the fancy work anyways .lol

New stove & dishwasher came this morning too. Granite gets installed next Thursday and then we have to pick out a backsplash tile. I can't wait to paint this place, they had some hideous colors throughout the house! That red wall in the kitchen/dining is pretty bold for us! 🤢 Then they have some ugly baby blue in the baths and peach throughout the rest. :puke:

Got a lot done the last 10 days. The whole house is painted (except the 2 baths) a neutral beige which we had in our last house and really like the color. I’ll do some accent walls later after we decorate and get rid of all the blinds and replace them with cellular shades. The kitchen came out exactly as we wanted and with the wall cut down and the red gone the whole area looks huge now! The door pulls are on order (brushed nickel) and should be here later this week which will finish off the kitchen. The kitchen hardware is getting expensive seeing this is the second set of cabinet pulls & knobs I’ve bought this year (between the 2 houses) and have spent almost $1,000 on them. 🤦‍♂️ We’re trying to find a backsplash tile now which I think is the hardest part of the finish. We’re just looking for something subtle and are leaning towards a 2"x4” brick subway mosaic tile.

After:

1763438353011-4g.webp

The island is 48" x 111" so now we have a much nicer/larger area.

I hate wall brackets (knee wreckers!) so I had them add metal reinforcement inlayed under the overhang. They're epoxied in and polished smooth so you can't even feel a ridge.

You all thought I was kidding about my Alf cookie jar. 😮😜

My mom made this for me back in 1988 and it’s been in every house I’ve owned.
