2019 Ranger 109,000 miles with extended warranty until Nov 2025. Have appt for Oct 13th. Still shifts ok but under light throttle feels like I’m driving over small rumble strips. My son is a GM A Tech and said it’s most likely the torque converter. We shall see! Transmission fluid has been changed 2 times since new. Most recently at 85k. My son works for a GM dealer that also owns the Ford dealer and is right next store to them so hopefully they won’t give me the run around.

It could be the EGR DPFE sensor. Many on here have had the same symptons, and this $20 part fixed it. It causes jerking at light throttle. Some had their torque converters replaced by Ford only to find out it was this part. RockAuto has them fairly cheap.

Sounds like EGR valve...I've had both issues at the same time...change it out first and see if that the stumble goes away, it's cheap...

It's actually not the EGR valve. It is the EGR Differential Pressure Feedback sensor, so the PCM can measure EGR gas flow, that goes bad that causes the issue.

I did replace the EGR sensor about a year ago. Wasn’t bad was just doing as a precaution. I used a “generic” one. Maybe that one went bad. Maybe I should have just let it go since I wasn’t having an issue then. Haha

Don’t think these are the same as the Rock Auto/Standard Motor Products ones. They actually have the OEM numbers imprinted on them ( but have been scrubbed). Pretty sure they come from the same supplier as the OEM.
The one I replaced my stock one with was from Rock Auto but I suppose that one could have went bad too…if that is in fact the issues.

I'd go ahead and replace it again since it's cheap (just the sensor)...you'll know instantly if that's the culprit...

True. There's a bunch of these floating around Amazon.

When I 1st heard of this problem, I immediately purchased 2 OEM from Ford. Very inexpensive back in 2020. Now it's over $100 for just one! 😱 And at one time, it was hard to get. Out of stock everywhere.

Just to clarify, there's two types of DPFE for sale...one is sensor only (you reuse your hoses/clamps) and can be had for around $25...the other is a complete set with sensor and hoses/clamps cost $85 and up...

Yup, I have the full set. In fact, I haven't used them yet.

That’s the plan! Should be here on Thursday.
