I'll be there tomorrow around 3:00.

Open invitation !!!

I've never been in the sand dunes at SPI. Has anyone on this site ever gone ? If so,,, where's the best spot to have a good time and let the truck shred ?

...and not get buried

I did 40 years ago. Damn near lost the FJ40 in the surf! But, apart from that 30 minute panic and being saved by a 4x4 truck and 4x4 van, I loved it (had a CB radio and huge whip antenna back then). Of course, most of the beach was pretty quiet back then!

I broke both front leaf springs in a back spot on north Galveston Island, catching a few feet of air!

Lived in Galveston in the early '80s, went to Galveston College. Trivia: Buc-ee's founder is from Lake Jackson, just a stone's skip from Galveston.

ahh, history, neatly lost it in the gulf formerly known as Mexico! =D

@subquark, it's cool to see that you have your old FJ off road rig. The FJ and Soupie are the same colors. 🤘

There's a company over here that makes replica FJ bodies in fiberglass so you can keep and rebuild it when the steel body falls apart, as long as the chassis is still good. It's not like the engines or gearboxes ever wear out.
