On its way...I like my add-on's to be functional. I compared Agency 6 and Factor55 recovery products and went with the Agency6

Grabbed the 2" Shackle Block kit with D-Ring & Hitch Pin for $60 as there are codes online for 15% OFF

By Text, I received a picture of the SCCA Race Truck I built at Livernois 30 years ago restoration to the 1990 paint scheme. I have been a consultant on this restoration. It is headed to the LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma Washington to be displayed as part of the Saleen Exhibit for the next year. Who would have thought a 30 old racetruck would be worthy of a museum presence.

Hi Phil,

Congrats!! That's really great you were part of this restoration and now it'll be a museum piece! How about a little history of the truck when you have time? Always enjoy your back stories! :)

It's neat to be a part of that.

Got my amp max bed extender, and a decently impressive panel removal kit for $20.

Not looking forward to having to clean out he newly sprayed bedliner from the mounting holes.

Hi Phil,

Congrats!! That's really great you were part of this restoration and now it'll be a museum piece! How about a little history of the truck when you have time? Always enjoy your back stories! :)
Hi Dave,

This was the number 20 truck. Saleen had three trucks 19, 20 and 21. The 21 was used for "guest" drivers for the most part.

This truck spent most of its life as the number 20, driven mostly by George Follmer, the legendary Formula One driver in the UOP backed Shadow F1 car, but did time as the 21 truck with Winston West Champion Hershel McGriff doing a one off drive, for example. It was even the 19 truck for Steve Saleen on a few occasions. It was one of 4 trucks I built at Livernoise, the roll cage and suspension were designed by me, and I helped write the rules for the SCCA Racetruck Challenge Series as I inadvertently started the whole series back in 1986 at Lime Rock Raceway in Connecticut.

When Saleen went IndyCar raacing in 1992, To raise cash for that effort , he disbanded the Truck team and sold off the equipment and the three trucks. Two trucks were picked up by Craig Weidner, a Ford dealer in Cadillac Michigan. Craig raced in the RaceTruck Challenge Series and knew the 'factory" trucks were much quicker than his two Rangers, so he bought and campaigned them. The other truck went to Livernoise and became the most winning truck of the finial year of the Series and clinched not only the driver's championship, but also the Manufacturers Championship. Steve Saleen was the hired driver for the Livernois truck.

After the Series folded at the end of the year, 1991, the trucks were parked with no place to play. The two Weidner trucks ended up in California for restoration, but only one was restored...it currently lives in Texas at a private racetrack of a multimillionaire collector of historic race cars. Both trucks were bought by a fellow who is part of the Saleen Owner's of America, and lived in Virginia. The unrestored truck was sold to its current owner, who lives in Columbus Ohio. He is also a member of the Saleen Owner's Club of America.

This owner contacted me through his connection to Steve Saleen. Saleen told him to get a hold of me, so he made contact via LinkedIn, which started me to dig through my racing archives and all the memories of those 5 years of the SCCA series came flooding back. So now that the 2nd truck is restored. The third truck and my test mule ended up being raced at Lake Geneva Speedway, an oval track in Wisconsin and then disappeared and remain undiscovered if they even exist. Several folks from the Saleen Owner's Club are trying to do a "barn find" search for these two trucks. Rumor is my test mule is being held by a family that thinks it is pure gold, and looking to make a fortune on the truck... Just a rumor at this point, but there two trucks for which they remain unaccounted.

Here is a picture of the Manufacturers Championship Trophy which I just recently donated to be displayed at the Museum as well as the truck

That's awesome, Phil! It's coming to my neck of the woods and now I have an excuse to go back to the LeMay Museum.

Got the bezel today also. AND, my Weathertech mud guards. I love it when a plan comes together. Very impressed with both.

What brand bug deflector?
AVS. It was little annoying installing because it involves removing factory clips holding the rubber gasket and installing a few new ones. If you don't have the perfect clip removal tool you may end up tearing the rubber gasket which I did in a very minor way.
