Winch Thimble

Since my winch has the synthetic rope, a regular winch hook will leave a small portion of the rope exposed where sunlight UV will deteriorate it over time.

The worst time to find it has weakened is when you need it to pull yourself out.

A thimble keeps the rope totally enclosed and protected from UV and weather.
AHHHHH !!! So, basically an enhanced nipple protector........:crackup::crackup:

If I get the truck back from getting serviced by Friday, I’ll be putting these in this weekend ?
I installed my dipstick last week. I'm probably the only tard that had a very difficult time getting the top bolt in. Its embarrassing to say, but I spent hours trying to get it into the U clip. LOL

I just threw in the towel on a simple remove and replace on two power lock actuators on my 98 Cherokee XJ. I went from the doors only locking manually to not being able to open the one door I replaced the actuator on. Had to remove the panel with the door shut to go inside and manually open it. Then after getting everything reinstalled couldn’t shut it then back to getting it shut as and not able to open it. Looks like my mechanic is going to get the $800 he said it would cost. I wasted way more time and emotion than I should have. Most guys here could probably do the job in 30 minutes blind drunk…I should have known better than to try it. ???

LOL. I'm always hesitant when I do something new, but this seemed pretty easy, and it was except for the one bolt. I gave up a couple of times and walked away. After much bleeding and aggravation it came together.

Honestly don’t feel bad. Door stuff is always and I mean always a complete pain in the ass. When I had my evo I just completely removed the power lock/unlock option… and no I didn’t go into in the doors to remove them I simply removed the door completely and replaced them with doors of a evolution 8 RS (basically a bare bones package no power locks and no power windows.)

Not in the mail to me, but Kate got me these for my birthday (and more stuff to post later, like a PPE pan!). =)

I'm old school with Milton stick tire gauges, but after watching a Farm Project video on gauges I decided I should try it out.

Some might say I'm obsessed with tire pressure and I do like me some perfect pressures!

It's not a huge hassle to fire up the compressor and roll out the hose, but I don't do it as often as I'd like to (hmm, once in the morning and once in the afternoon comes to mind!). =D

I have a GSPSCN 12 volt inflator, but that's a pain since it's under the dog bed in the back and ya gotta plug it in ... life's so hard some times ... =p

The tire gauge works very nicely and it was funny to see a decimal reading, like 34.7 psi - my OCD may have just ramped up a notch!

The little Lasfit TK1 was an absolute joy to use. Three tires were at 35 psi and one was 34.5, so I had to let a few more pounds out to see how this thing works.

And I like it! I suppose I may do a test to report back here to let you know a better number, like maybe air down to 25 and see how long to get up to 35 (I'm guessing that will be at least 5 to 10 minutes).

It's not as fast as the little GSPSCN and certainly a far cry form an air compressor with 3/8" hoses. But it's incredibly convenient and easy to use. Its pressure gauge matched up with two Milton sticks and the Jaco, so now all I need is the Lasfit and I can go check the pressure RIGHT NOW!!! =D

There are lots of great choices out there for portable inflators, I landed on this one because I think it can inflate even as it's being charged.

This would never be a good option if you're airing down off-road, but for someone who wants a little piece of mind (along with my 160 plug tire kit), it's perfect.

So much peace of mind, in fact, that I took out that GSPSCN and cleared up half a rear seat's foot space.

Hmm, guess I need to buy something to fill that void!

ugh, my new nuts from last summer have rust! bah on Dorman!

It's directly from Lasfit and is a bit different from the one they have on Amazon. That one has an extra hose and a speed chuck. I have no idea why they add an extra hose, but I'd take it out to reduce clutter. I'm also not a fan of speed chucks, I find they can easily leak. Plus, screwing the hose onto the valve makes a tight seal for that psi perfection! =)

The Jaco is here and it's 200 psi (for those massive dump loads!). =)

Just received my new freezer/fridge for truck camping. I’m done with ice! Have a small solar generator and solar panel on the way by same company. Ratings were really good for this cheap 23qt version. Going to get a seat belt extension an strap it in that way. With seat back it won’t go anywhere anyway.

Gotta wait 12 hours to ops check it…because refrigerant in transit. When truck is running it will be in the ac plug in console and hooked to solar generator when truck is off.
