How many miles should we expect to get from the OEM off road package tires with normal city/hwy driving? What name and brand are these tires?

The tires for XLT/Lariat FX4s are Hankook Dynapro. I believe the XL might have different FX4 tires, but I'm not sure.

They seem like relatively good all around tires. Not sure on how many miles, but I'd have to imagine an average amount of around 50-70k. The reviews on tire rack (where I get my tires usually) seem to reflect that. Average tire, expect average results all around.

Hey, Paul, the stock tires on my Lariat FX4 are Hankook Dynapro. My experience with them confirms what Paul said above, "they are relatively good all-around tires," meaning that I don't hate them, but I don't love them either. Consumer Reports puts them in the middle of the pack under the category of "all-terrain truck tires" and has them them projected for 85,000 miles. Still, I don't think it would be a good idea to try to push up against that limit. I always switch out and upgrade tires for my vehicles sooner rather than later.

I’m happy with the Hankooks regarding noise and wear so far but they’re just not aggressive enough, so they’re coming off today!

"Coming off" to be replaced by what, if you don't mind my asking?

Today they’re being replaced by Cooper Discoverer M+S for the winter, and I have a set of General Grabber ATX here as well that will go on in the spring. Both sets are 265/70R17.

In Aug 2013 we had Hankook Dynapro ATM P265/70R-16'S installed on our 2002 Tacoma. Basically the same tires that come with the FX-4 package on the 5th Gen Rangers.

They had 56,000 miles on them when we got our new Ranger, and were about ready to be replaced.

I think the Grabber ATX in the same 265/70-17 as you went with will be my replacement tire also. Comparable to a BFG, less money and not everybody and their brother have them. I will have to wait at least 2 yrs/ 30k miles though. Then I can still get a little bit for the Hankooks and convince the wife that they are half worn out and not safe.....:LOL:

Let the air out of 2 of them one night and tell her you must of run over something. Then tell her it's cheaper to just buy 4 new ones online and sell the others later lol

Tell her they’re worth more now than when they’re half worn!

And that's true... a lot of tire shops will give you pretty good money for the tires if they are almost new.

I tried that at two shops before I picked up my truck. One offered $90 each and the other offered $100 each. The tires are $200CDN each to buy so I decided to try my luck and sell all five privately and hope to get more!

Interesting! I thought these were new tires, I had no idea they’ve been around that long!
