Well…actually, I’m the one having to sit through it. For the past 3-4 years, husband will not leave the house before 1:00PM. Has to see The Young and The Restless and then The Bold and The Beautiful after the news at noon. ?
Oh my, I don't think I know one guy who ever watched soap operas.?

Please tell me he doesn't have a damper on his truck?

He doesn’t.?
I also had an uncle who owned a dairy. Every day he would walk up the hill to his house for lunch and to watch As the World Turns. He never missed an episode. But, he and my husband are the only two I know of.?

There was a soap opera I used to watch.

I could really identify with it's characters.

I never watched that. I tried watching Star Trek and Sci-Fi movies but just never could get into them. I was always into action shows or sports. If someone wasn't getting chased or blown up I wasn't interested. lol

They're all soap operas even Game of Thrones and Yellowstone are just manly soap operas. I was a big fan of this show when I was younger. I think it was better than DS9 despite not having close to the budget. The plot was pretty interesting and there were some memorable episodes like when Londo and Gkar get stuck in the elevator together or when Garibaldi repeatedly screws up his life. It's more gritty then Star Trek.

I recently started watching The Leftovers because I read that it was "a cross between X-Files and Lost". Well I can say it's neither and the show is garbage. I thought maybe it's old enough to not be crap like everything coming out of hollywood today. Nope, the plot is stupid, the characters are dumb and uninteresting and the show is actually annoying to watch. You know those dramatic scenes where music plays and things go slow motion, showing characters faces looking sad or whatever? Well The Leftovers has about 4-5 of those every episode. Just overdone. I grabbed all three seasons off pirate bay but deleted them all and watched Repo Man instead. Plate of Shrimp.

It's definitely a slow burn until it gets good.

But it does get good.

@MountainGoat I always thought this was a pretty good scene, followed by the garden scene with Vir.

You must have loved the A-Team then. ? lots of shooting and explosions but nobody ever gets killed. I think Stephen J. Cannell had it in for Jeeps. They almost always flipped at least one.

I actually like Babylon 5. Lots of things went BOOM in it. I also liked Farscape once I gave it a chance. If you want Gritty watch the Battlestar Galactica (2004 version). Firefly though brief was pretty good. The Expanse is well done, gritty and blows things up too,

And it you want to stay on earth try Justified. It starts off with quite a bang, and is well scripted.

Have to say that this centurys series are utter BS. Some series I've watched in past year or ten, and have actually finished the seriers to current seasons. Looks to be pretty much book adaptations to me, so I guess that the last screen writers died at last century and their replacements came from a ship full of hairdressers.

- LOTR:ROP
- Fallout
- Shogun
- 3 Body Problem (great book, have to see how they potray the 4th dimension in the serie)
- 1670
- Occupied
- Squid Game
- Sanctuary
- Reacher (First season was good, then it went to that same shitshow as every other series)
- Bosch
- Goliath
- Andor
- The Boys (again, first season was good then it's slow death bed of ideas and move to Emmerdale)
- Boba Fett
- Expanse
- Unkown Soldier (extended extended movie, cut to series, since it's... long. Even the movie had intermission in theather with coffee break and pastries included)
- Lower Decks (hey, cartoons)
- Picard
- Mandalorian (Nothing really happens, now in pretty CGI pictures)
- Treadstone

Some series I might watch later:
- Silo (The book series was pretty good)
- Foundation (prolly runs just on the books merit)

P.S. Anyone have extra towel I could borrow?

You're right I loved the A-Team! More people get injured in a Bugs Bunny cartoon than they did on the A-Team. lol ? ?

100% agree on the new generation of writers.

The most glaring example I can think of is Pixar.

A Pixar movie used to be a guaranteed minimum pretty good movie.

Now they drop duds more than good movies.

Actually, I can't think of a good recent Pixar movie.

You're right I loved the A-Team! More people get injured in a Bugs Bunny cartoon than they did on the A-Team. lol ? ?
I could really use some of those bullet proof trash cans!

When I was in Junior College, and still living at home. I'd go home for lunch, and my Mom was watching some soap opera. Darned if I didn't get hooked on that for a while.

Sitting here with husband watching Lopez vs Lopez. Husband points and says “Hey, that’s the guy from Cheech & Chong!” ???That’s George Lopez, I say, that’s who the show is named after.

Husband states he has excellent facial recognition & that is definitely Cheech or Chong. Even after I pulled up a pic of them.? This & dailey looking for keys is my life.?
