Agree. I still use the radio volume knob, even though there are buttons for it on the wheel.

For the most part I like the touch screen controls much better. They're up higher so if you need to make changes while driving you're not looking down for knobs or buttons to push. Most of the buttons on the Ranger are useless during the day because you can't see them and what functions they do unless you turn your lights on. I like that I can control the radio from the steering wheel without taking my eyes off the road.

Agree with that! The buttons that are there should be backlit. Really hard to see when it is sunny. I hate using the touch screen when driving.

I think I use both equally. The knob is more responsive, like when I need to immediately turn down volume. Just grab it and spin.

Ergonomics always wins the day. Buttons placed higher and lit will change everything. There is a place for both touchscreens and tactile controls in modern autos. But it must be well designed and thought out, no "helter skelter" placement.
