Didn't jump any people, but my friend was big into BMX. We built a ramp, and when he could only jump 15'ish feet, I towed him on my moped....back when they were cool, I think.....and he managed to break the 30 foot barrier numerous times. Ah, the good ole days....
I had a moped an rode it like a dirt bike. I broke the motor mount jumping a dirt mound once. I figured my dad would kill me. I took a bike rim apart an slide the axle bolt through the hold an it worked. It held it for the rest of it's rough life.

I also pulled my friend but not to jump. We went all around the area, 20-30 miles each way with his bike tied to my moped, luckily we neve had to make an emergency stop or turn.

The dumbest (and most fun) thing I did as a kid was to make "pop can cannons" - taped 3 pop/beer cans together (cutting the top and bottom out of the top 2), punched a small hole on the bottom one, shoved a tennis ball in the top and then squirted some lighter fluid in the hole and held a match next to the hole - BOOM! They were a BLAST!

The good old days!
We used oil dipped trassel and UN 0029 detonators :p

We use to do the same until one day I got an idea. I walked (it was a mile away) down to the Jr High School where they had tennis courts and asked a few people if I could have their tennis ball cans. I got 2 of them and taped them together and loaded them up with tennis balls. It took a while to get the right combo of lighter fluid and balls but once I did man those suckers were fun & powerful. I guess even then I couldn't leave well enough alone!?‍♂

Exactly what we did jumping people. Think the worst that happened was one guys arm got run over, nothing broken.
Don't forget the long metal slides on a hot day while wearing shorts.

We did the same but never tried a jump with it. Did some wheelies and luckily nothing fell off.

And helmets? No need, these were bicycles. Not motorcycles. I even have a scar on my forehead to prove helmets weren't needed. The result of learning how to not ride no-handed over uneven sidewalks.

Now that one brings back some memories. We also used the same launcher but with calcium carbide as fuel. It is a miracle we survived. :)

Our "Dangerous" escapade was to take an M-80 (one of the good ones, not the noise makers called that now) and dip it in Elmer's glue.

Then roll it in BBs when it got tacky and let it harden.

It was basically a fragmentation grenade.

Yes, we all survived, and yes, they would absolutely tear stuff up.

Dang I never thought of doing that. We had the real M-80's too and use to toss them in the air and hit them with a tennis racket. Our version of playing Army. lol

We had that same slide at the playground. Would steal my mom's roll of wax paper and sit on pieces of that for a very quick trip down ?.

A man goes to the doctor complaining he is sore all over.
“Doc”, he says, “I press my finger on my knee and it really hurts. When I press it on my elbow it hurts too. And my forehead…ouch! What do you think is wrong with me?”
Doc replies, “Your finger’s broken.”
