Did anyone let Porsche know?
Further research has shown that Porsche actually did build the first known “series hybrid” vehicle in 1900 called the Lohner. Seem to kinda forget about the concept until 1940 when they developed a series hybrid tank for the war. It was basically in a bidding war to be the “Tiger” tank for the German’s. But it was found to be too complicated and expensive, built with too much copper. Two air cooled 15 liter V-10s coupled to generators powering electric drive motors that run the tracks. Truly proof that I will never have an original idea.

Very few new ideas in the auto industry. Most are just new technology on an old concept.

I could say the same thing about the IT industry as well. Same concepts, someone just comes up with a new name for it and markets it as "new". I won't say there aren't EVER new ideas, but they don't come up very often - most are just rehashes of old ideas with a new name.
