Joined the Ranger Club, New to me 2019

I have been a long time Toyota truck driver, typically buying older models and doing a lot of my own wrenching, but after my last long road trip, and my 08 tacoma really having a ton of repairs in need, I took the plunge and picked up this used 2019 Lariat last week, really a fun truck! As I said, not as familiar with newer vehicles or Fords for that matter, so any suggestions or things to look out for, please let me know. I get out an camp and explore a lot with my dog, so I really hope this can be a good adventure vehicle I can have for a long time.

I have had my '19 XLT for about 3 months now and love it, I think you will too. They are great trucks, and ride very comfortably down road paved or not. So far my only issue is that I found the rear defrost does not work,but it's a used vehicle and if that's it's only problem it's nothing. You have a nice truck I hope you love it as much as I do mine.

Good looking truck. Of your truck is still on the stock shocks those would be a good thing to swap out for a even nicer ride.. but looking at that wheel package they may already be changed out to something nicer.. and maybe some rokblock mud flaps to spare the paint from the tiny rocks that can get thrown at the body.
You’ll have some tuner options (also if not done already.) which will give the truck some gallop on top of what it has already, look into FORscan.

I've driven so many older trucks, I'm used to some of those small things popping up, as long as it keeps moving down the road is my biggest concern! I really like how comfortable this thing rides/drives and am really looking forward to getting it out on the forest service roads for some more exploring, just wish this thing had a bed liner in it

Great call on the flaps, we use a lot of crushed cinder on the roads in my area, which tends to be hard on paint, this truck actually has a nice set of fox/eibach shocks and coils, which was a nice bonus, so far ride feels good, a small amount of rubbing on the front if you turn super sharp in reverse, nothing too major.

Seems to be a common thing with these trucks. The rear defrost traces just come apart, the connector tab falls off. I am getting my whole window replaced Thursday. The whole passenger side of the defrost has disintegrated.

ooof, probably good to double check and make sure my insurance policy covers windshields/glass just in case. Good think I have a good ice scraper too!

Remember you're on a truck chat group so you'll see some banter and gallows humor about some issues but I personally think the truck has the full potential to be a fabulous, long-lasting platform with regular maintenance.

Nice I like the fox shocks personally and will be moving up to the 2.5 performance elites when the time comes…
Just a heads up the Fox shocks do have service intervals per their website

As for the bit of rub, some have mitigated that issue with the high clearance intrusion beam/crash bars (it appears yours are still the stock ones.) and/or 1” level kit spacer (if I’m remembering correctly, but I may have to check my notebook.? there’s a lot of super smart guys on here so i actually take notes on some things)…if you have the fox adjustable clovers in the front they may just need to be adjusted to provide the 1” of lift… actually probably should’ve asked if your ranger is lifted at all first ?.. judging by the pictures it appears to have stock height/stock rake…. Did i mention you have a nice looking tire/wheel package too. (KO3’s? size?)
