Every time I see this I begin to Spontaneously laugh.![]()
Ranger's tranny is bomb proof! Y'all a bunch of whiners...
It only hurts when I think of what I would've rather spend the $6K on...?Every time I see this I begin to Spontaneously laugh.
Has it eased your pain yet?
Good therapy I suppose. I commensurate!
So your still under the 5 year 60K miles powertrain warranty. I would suggest that you take it in to have the transmission looked at ( TSB 24-2101 ) before doing anything to the transmission yourself. More than likely you are having the TSB related issue. If so then Ford will cover it.
Thanks Steve! I actually have an appointment to do just that - I did want to check the xmsn fluid myself before changing / flushing the xmsn fluid which I did today. Good news is that the xmsn fluid color, level, etc all seemed normal; the "wrench" warning light did not appear my last two drives (to/from work) when it came on the other day; BUT now I am just wondering what the Ford Service Provider is going to say if there is no wrench/current fault present when I bring it in. I guess we will see but holding off on any further. So your still under the 5 year 60K miles powertrain warranty. Thanks Bill! Just ordered the USB adapter...thanks to Amazon it will be delivered tomorrow! Thanks again for the suggestion!I would download the Forscan program and get a USB adaptor for the OBD port. It will read stored DTC codes and allows you to view many parameters in the truck. The download is free and works with Windows laptops.
I never had a light and they put a new transmission in mine under warranty. It all has to do with shift quality. They will check for codes but it’s not contingent upon having any. Awesome, good to know! That would be my ideal scenario! Thank you Steve!I never had a light and they put a new transmission in mine under warranty. It all has to do with shift quality. They will check for codes but it’s not contingent upon having any. Attaching the TSB for you to read up on
Your problem is not necessarily a transmission problem, as the wrench can indicate problems in other parts of the drivetrain. Have you read through the "Similar Threads" below this thread?Awesome, good to know! That would be my ideal scenario! Thank you Steve!
Have not been on the site for a couple of years. Is this a known issue or is this a Ford work around?Uh-oh another harness failure.
If it is this harness, here is the latest thread.Have not been on the site for a couple of years. Is this a known issue or is this a Ford work around?
Thanks, I found it. Sounds legit as to the harness issue. What a poor design. If it is this harness, here is the latest thread.
