Every time I see this I begin to Spontaneously laugh.

Has it eased your pain yet?

Good therapy I suppose. I commensurate!
It only hurts when I think of what I would've rather spend the $6K on...?

So your still under the 5 year 60K miles powertrain warranty. I would suggest that you take it in to have the transmission looked at ( TSB 24-2101 ) before doing anything to the transmission yourself. More than likely you are having the TSB related issue. If so then Ford will cover it.

Thanks Steve! I actually have an appointment to do just that - I did want to check the xmsn fluid myself before changing / flushing the xmsn fluid which I did today. Good news is that the xmsn fluid color, level, etc all seemed normal; the "wrench" warning light did not appear my last two drives (to/from work) when it came on the other day; BUT now I am just wondering what the Ford Service Provider is going to say if there is no wrench/current fault present when I bring it in. I guess we will see but holding off on any further.

I would download the Forscan program and get a USB adaptor for the OBD port. It will read stored DTC codes and allows you to view many parameters in the truck. The download is free and works with Windows laptops.
Thanks Bill! Just ordered the USB adapter...thanks to Amazon it will be delivered tomorrow! Thanks again for the suggestion!

I never had a light and they put a new transmission in mine under warranty. It all has to do with shift quality. They will check for codes but it’s not contingent upon having any. Attaching the TSB for you to read up on

Your problem is not necessarily a transmission problem, as the wrench can indicate problems in other parts of the drivetrain. Have you read through the "Similar Threads" below this thread?

My 2019 Ranger with 89,000 miles just went berserk today. I was on the highway going about 65-70 when if felt like the transmission failed, hard jerk. The wrench light came on, the collision warning and the hill assist light all came on. I lost power, dropped from 65 to 40 immediately and continued to reduce power. Luckily I was about a half a mile from an exit with deailer I bought the vehicle new. By the time I drove less than 2 miles max speed was under 10 MPH and really rough engine. Pulled into Ford, tech came out and said it seems like you are running on two cylinders. I do have an extended warranty and still covered, but what the……. Ford app shows 8 separate and different alerts from 11:04 until 11:17 when I parked at Ford. Service engine, Pre-Collision, Powertrain, Hill Start…..

Ford said harness clamp failed and wiring harness went into engine fan, cutting wires. Transmission tested good. Replace wiring harness and engine fan. Still under extended warranty.
