I put mine through the test today doing about 3 hours of off roading and it never moved once. Every other mount I've tried the phone (iPhone 8+) has either fallen off or tilted on the mount.

I have used the magnet mount on other vehicles with my previous iphone, and really liked it. However, my new iphone X does wireless charging, but I think the magnet negates that. So I looked for other options so as not to put a magnet on my phone or case.

They give you 2 different sized magnets (long rectangular and a circular one) and you can mount it a little lower so it won't interfere with the wireless charger. I think another member here has this and it works with his that way.

Decided to de-badge some stuff so tried a cheap experiment. I removed the front emblem and wrapped it in self healing headlight wrap. Didn't want to invest in one of those on ebay because not sure I'm keeping grill.
Came out pretty good. After trying twice to do it on the truck and failed, I got fed up and removed the whole emblem and did it on my bench. Your preference if you want lighter stuff. This darkness makes the chrome and blue disappear. Hard to get a decent picture.... excuse dust and finger prints.
You can read/order up on it here... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GQRQ996/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I installed it and drove around the block. I would say half-throttle or more is going to get an audible "whoosh" when you let up. Very casual driving? Probably not. I've driven the truck for less than a mile since the install though. I have a 50 mile commute to work tomorrow, so I'll post a follow-up after that. If it turns out to be too much/annoying it's a 5 minute swap to swap it back.
Thanks, I’m definitely interested to hear what you think.

I got this to hold my phone in the dash cubby. It fits perfectly, seems to stick well, and holds my IPhone X with case either horizontally or vertically. Amazon - $12.80

Be careful leaving your phone in the heat. They do have a shut down built in if the temperature starts to cook phone and you'll have to wait till it cools off to turn it back on.

Same in the winter too when leaving in a vehicle at well below freezing temperatures!

Today my Ranger is in my nice, clean, heated and insulated garage. White-out conditions outside.

Good way to kill two birds with one stone and let us know how it handles in the snow too. haha
Good guidance as far as I’m concerned:

Crap, looks like my deck when I lived in NJ... We had some nasty blizzards over the years and just abnormal amounts of reg snowfall. I do not miss it, lol

Early winter for sure. We were on the southern edge of that front so just some wind and cold...not any precip.
Good for you. We’re up to 16” now! I’ve heard I-90 is closed at Livingston, MT
