Just opened my hood and found this mess ...

Can't remember the last time I checked under the hood, but probably only a few days!! I refilled the washer fluid about a week ago and did not see this!!

Any idea how to kill/prevent what ever is doing this?

Squirrel or rat, judging by the size of the claw/teeth marks.
Squirrel...trap or shoot.
Rat....get the little green poison blocks and coat them with peanut butter and place around entry points or around the truck, and anywhere they might be living (wood/brush pile, around the garage, etc). Rat traps with the little metal pan/trigger (aka--the four way trigger)--coat the pan with peanut butter and smear some on the underside of the pan too....this is what gets them.

I had a nice hunting camp in Madison, Florida and I put up a Deerstand and I put a nice boat cushion seat on it. I came out the following week and there was buzzards buzzards buzzards perched on it and I went over and climbed up there and looked and they took all the foam out of my boat seat. .

Please don't use poison as this is often what kills collaterally, wildlife. The body of poisoned animals kill birds, house pets when they find these carcasses.
