Just to clarify:

If you have the truck running and you manually select (say panel) and adjust the temperature to your preference, it the Auto (Greyed Out) on the Touchscreen and the FCIM (Auto-Button) indicator LED light (Off)

If you shut the truck off in this scenario, when restarted it should maintain the Panel Vent - Mode and stay out of Auto
To double check, you're saying that if I don't see the greyed out option (which I don't -- I see manually selected vent on the screen) and the auto button isn't illuminated on the FCIM panel behind the climate controls (it is not illuminated), then it should stay how I set it.
If that's what you're saying, then that's not what happens... It's baffling.

Yes, I normally just keep the CC in Auto.
But played with it, shut off truck in manual vent and 12 hours later restarted truck and it stayed in manual. (Note: IPC , Remote Start setting is in -Auto

With IPC (remote start - setting in Auto)
And the CC in manual @ shutdown.
With a Remote Start - operation
Behind the scenes as you cannot see the sync screen (in remote start) the CC operates in Auto until I select the PB switch to on - Full Power Up of the truck.
This is noted by the higher blower fan speed (Auto) and then Power-Up it ramps down to selected manual mode.
Note: Outcome of this noted test will vary by the current outside temp and cabin temp
But it does show that the IPC setting is only for Remote Start (operation)

I did some more tests, and will correct something I said earlier.

If I turn climate control Off before turning off the car, the system goes to Auto Vent Configuration when I use the key to restart the vehicle -- despite manually changing away from Auto.
If I keep climate control On while turning off the car, the Vent Configuration remains as I last set it when I use the key to restart the vehicle.

For example, here's what it looks like when I turn the car back on: see the Auto grey box:

Now say I change fan speed and the front vent -- there are no grey boxes anymore on the vents:
after manual set.jpg

If i turn climate control off at the point of the last image, and then turn the car back on, the VENTS ONLY will again be Auto (the AUTO button on the screen and FCIM LED will not be illuminated; this was my mistake for saying the whole CC was on Auto).

Why might the vents keep setting back to Auto? Is this expected?
