Aluminum Wheel as a spare with TPMS

I was wondering if it's possible to have an aluminum wheel with a TPMS as spare tire? I want to be able to do a 5-tire rotation.

Yes, it works. I bought a used matching wheel.

I have 4 OEM 17 inch chrome wheels on my 2020 XLT. I was able to find an extra set of the same wheels and used one to replace the 16 inch steel spare tire and wheel. The 17 inch wheel fit with no issue. Go for it....

You will need to be aware that the TMPS has to be at least 3 ft away from another TMPS during recalibration. So when you put the spare in rotation you will need to leave the new spare off the truck until the 4 wheels are identified by the system.
