I have been researching sound deadening while I plan on upgrading the speakers in my 2023 XLT. I am going to add material to the doors and the roof. I am trying to find out the thickest material I can put in the doors without affecting windows or trim. I am finding most people on here put 50-80mil.

What is the thickness of the sound deadening material you put in the doors without issues?

Just a heads up, I sound deadened the entire roof thinking I could help the noise from my roof rack, zero improvement.

May/may not be your experience too...

Thanks for the heads up. No improvement with rain? That's what I was hoping for.

I put sound deadening material on my doors and floor using the 80 mil stuff and it made a big difference in road noise. It’s thick enough to help without being a pain to install. I used a roller to make sure it stuck well, and it definitely feels more solid when shutting the doors now. If you're doing the whole cab, get more than you think you’ll need.
