This hit my news feed. Just watched the video and my mind is blown. Between his skills, the technology of the engine... all of it. Mind blown. Not sure I've ever been so focused during a 10 minute video.

Fingers crossed my link sharing attempt works.

I saw that, awesome job! I saw a mini Ford 300 straight 6 engine you could assemble and run also, I was scared to check the price though...

Cool, I had a couple of my brothers or neighbors RC fuel cars as a kid, (8 or so) I can't remember where they came from or even what happened to them, I can smell that Hobby Fuel Now

The last time i saw Hobby Fuel used was back in A&P School (Aviation Maintenance) we had a student who just got a Hobby Helicopter (It would rise) till it runs out of fuel and then Auto-Rotate Down.
Well, he got (1-Successful) run - Short Rise up, and successful land.
However - the Second Launch - he added more fuel to get it up higher.
Well, this was NOT a good idea on a WINDY day.
Air Current caught it and carried it off, he looked all around for it and never found it.

So, for $270.00 he got one run with it. This was in 1993 so I am quite sure they are even more expensive now.

Hobbies are EXPENSIVE, and one of the reasons I never actually bought an RC Airplane, as I always wanted to but too afraid of getting it in the air and crashing it.
I have considered a Drone but again never actually pulled the trigger, at least they are pretty much crash proof.

+1!

At various stages of childhood I had an army jeep, an orange hot rod VW bug, and a top fuel dragster.

And Mom complained about the noise level from all three. :giggle:

I've watched a few videos with guys building and running those small engines. Always impressive. In this case though it blew me away to see someone install an engine in a vehicle. And the machining skills to do so.... wow.

My dad and I built an RC plane when I was a kid and yes we only got one flight out of it. I'm glad he was flying it and not me. I had a drone once too and upon takeoff it decided to follow the Peter Pan flight plan.

I was going to respond with EXACTLY the same response. I've lost TWO drones - well, lost one and crashed another one - the second one sort of still flies but the videos it takes are all crooked - the gimbal got messed up somehow.

Yep, same, flying in sport mode full throttle at 60' between trees, went into a sweeping turn forgetting radial drift and clipped a tower light on the sports field. Camera and gimbal came off and cracked the fuselage. Replaced it with a DJI Air2S with 360º avoidance. It also has 'find my drone' in case of a fly-away.

pretty sweet but too pricey for me. my brother builds rc crawlers from basic to extreme but no combustion engines. too much cost and too few customers.
