Gotta love those ARB summit winch bars, strong as an ox, love the Rhino rims too. I have the same bar except mine is painted to match the car. You really need to do something with that NSW plate though, as it offends my Queensland eyes.
Did you know that during Covid, we, for the first time since Federation, blocked our southern border with NSW and set up police road blocks, checkpoints, razor wire, and machine gun towers, to keep those filthy southerners out. Ok I exaggerate slightly, there were no machine guns in the towers.
After Covid ended I think that many Queenslanders secretly wanted the roadblocks to stay.

Where it got difficult was where the border runs through Coolngatta / Tweed Heads on the Gold Coast, some people had their house in NSW but their side of the street was in Queensland, they could literally not leave home! Also the main runway in Coolngatta airport is technically partly in NSW as well. NSW uses AESDT, Qld uses AEST so as you plane takes off you actually loose an hour - time travel has been perfected in Australia!
I have only been to NSW, but I would absolutely love to visit Queensland! I have a (now retired) friend who was a regional commander of the NSW police, and he was sent up to your border to manage a section of the "blockade." I think at first, he was all about doing his part to help stop the spread of COVID. But towards the end, when everyone was still locked down and freedoms were still being restricted, I got the sense he was frustrated with the whole thing.

One of these days I'm going to get my ass back down there to Oz. My dream is to rent a fourby and tour!!!!!

hmmmm. sounds like your NC home is eerily close to mine.
Which also sounds eerily close to me. Near a massively popular road for enthusiasts and motorcyclists.

Might could be. I'm about a half-hour west of Boone out in Ski Country.

yeah, we're all not all that far from each other.

on a somewhat related note, my wife's brand new Toyota (still less than 3k on the odo after our holiday road trip) got wrecked on I-75 in Tipp City, OH yesterday.

I was driving at the time. had cruise set at about 71 or 72 ish and someone flew up on my rear bumper at a very high rate of speed, swerved to the left, overcorrected, and swerved back into the driver's side door. then took off. statie who showed up to write up the report estimated the other driver to be exceeding 100mph.

not long after that, I almost got sideswiped by someone pulling a travel trailer and swerving around in their lane as they passed me just on the other side of Cincy. and about half an hour later I started smelling burned up brakes. low and behold, that same camper was pulled over on the shoulder. immediately after I passed it, the smell went away.

gators actually rank on my list of pros for FL....def agree with the rest of your list. but you should add Florida Man, too.
Ohh I do like gators, the kid didn't... I gotta try and find the picture I took at everglades np where I was kayaking in ~8 inch of water and was a bit of ouple feet from a gator that was probably 6+ feet. I didn't see him because he was just sitting still on the bottom in the mud.... I will miss the kayaking.

Yes your friend was quite correct, initially the blockade was done with the best of intentions as initially the worst source of infection was NSW. Largely due to a blunder on the part of a Cruise line, NSW State Health, and Federal Border force all of which blamed each other for what was really just an excellent example of plain poor communication, Private company to State Authority, State Authority, to Federal Authority, resulting in a a whole lot of infected people off a cruise ship being allowed to disembark back into the community instead of into isolation. However as things dragged on it was increasingly obvious that the whole thing was political, and a lot of people lost faith in the whole process, particularly when everyone knew it was like trying to hold back the tide with a wall. The water was always going to find a way around.

Well if you do ever make it over, please drop us a line if you're coming to Queensland, I can show you quite a few great places to go wheeling from mountain tracks, to beaches. And don't forget compared to the US our states are huge, Queensland coast runs from the Gold Coast to almost the Papua New Guinea border 6,973 km (4,333 mi) and out to the Central deserts to the west and tropical Rain forests and the Barrier Reef on the Coast. If there's nothing in there you like there must be something wrong with you.

I remember seeing a few of them at Barksdale AFB (SAC 8th AF HQ) on occasion in the late 1970's during joint exercises. Looked like works of art on the tarmac!
That's true, and a beautiful aircraft they were too, the Australian Airforce used them extensively, and they were built here as well.

Substitute Ibis for snow birds ( known as bin chicken here)
Swap Crocodiles for Gators
Swap Cyclones for Hurricanes ( same thing really)

and that could be my state
