Bronco tires and wheels

Hey all,

found a nice deal on some Bronco take-offs. they are a bit larger than what I had - 255/75/17 vs the factory 2WD 255/65/17.

First off, I could not believe the difference in the speedo lol. Using Waze to confirm I'm turning 70 on the speedo and 75 actual.

Second, with that extra tire mass its really hit my mpg. I've dropped a full mpg according to the dash. NOW - will that come back if/when I get after it with FORSCAN and do the adjustment or is that just the unsprung weight I'm dealing with on those Duelers?


Also - I had them swap the bronco centers for plain ford.

Set of 5 out the door installed for 700 seemed workable for me considering how much I was looking at for just a set of 4 tires.

Cool, i am putting these on next month. But will be using forscan to adjust the size difference. There is a confirmed fix for it. I will find it and post it here

I'm running the Badlands wheels and tires. 285/70R17 BFG KO2. Got a heck of a deal on all 5, brand new, they had 4 miles on them.

Here it is. Have not done this myself yet. I will in August. But this is proven to work. By the wiki on this forum.

Where it says according to app. That is a tire comparison app. Sizes are supposed to be the same. But its not.

According to wiki, are the actual tire size in computer, and the actual change to make with forscan to give you real world results. And accurate speed.

My buddy is on 255/75-17 in a 22 Ranger, he set his at 2412mm.

Edited my last post. Forgot the pick. According to the wiki forscan here, it is a confirmed fix. I will find out in August. Putting them on for this years hunting season

What caps did you purchase? I’ve got a set in storage for when my factory A/Ts wear down. I tried one set of caps but they are recessed too much. I think those ford performance caps may fit but have not dropped $80 to test.

In terms of mpg, mine actually went up before adjusting the speedo… I assumed it hit a sweet spot of gearing.

I paid $400 for a set of 5 takeoffs with 500 miles on them. I’m not going to threadcrap on those listed in the classifieds but they are massively overpriced if you are willing to look around a few hours on Facebook marketplace. I got a decent deal, but going price was $4-600.

I took these tires off and threw them on my sport wheels when I had my ranger. Decent tires.

I will be looking to sell my Black Diamond Black steelies at some point. Will be posting here and they will be cheap.

The center caps - not really sure? the ones they initially installed had broncos but they changed them out without any question to generic Ford.

As for price? Probably a more active market down here in the greater Houston area so they can get a better markup? Again still cheaper than getting JUST a set of tires from Discount .
