2023 Ranger - whining noise at idle and low speeds

I just picked up my new Ranger this week and today I noticed a whining noise at low speed (like in parking lots) and when I stop and am just idling. I also noticed that it is louder under the truck than in the engine bay. Any idea if its a normal sound for this vehicle or not?

Trans pump has straight cut gears. I also freaked out.

check your transmission fluid. the whine noise reminds me of the noise mine makes. its hard to hear unless im next to a brick wall or heavy built fence and the sound reflects back to me in the cab.

My truck makes a similar sound, was an adjustment from my old V8. I've heard it's from the oil pump or trans pump. Definitely not the turbo which isn't spinning significantly at idle. Makes me a little nervous but after 3000 miles I've largely gotten used to it.

id bet its the typical DI engine sounds. very different from the expected normal noises for folks like me that were new to all this fancy technology. Almost sounds like a knock or tap like a wrist pin or sticky

Hey, did you end up figuring it out ? Just bought a 2020 lariat and put 600 miles on it and this is exactly what happened. Good thing it’s under warranty ?

Did you end up finding the issue? My 2023 XLT is doing this too.

I'm no expert but I think that's normal whirring/whining from a tight new engine. Sounds like tight tolerances as opposed to the engines of 20 years ago.

My 2022 does this (lol, even after adding an engine cover).

Did you end up finding the issue? My 2023 XLT is doing this too.

I havent had a chance to go to a dealership with it yet.
