My 2019 Ranger with Synch 3 changes radio stations now and then. Does anyone know how to fix that problem?

so the prerequisite questions - are you pushing the buttons on the steering wheel dash or touch screen by accident, or is any object pushing any of before mentioned? Do you have any favorite songs or artists saved as a favorite ? if so the station can change to go the favorite when it is playing on another station on sat radio.
now that those are out of the way, I would guess that a reset would do the trick. Unhook your battery overnight and see how the stereo acts after. if it still does its own strange changes you can do the reset from the diagnostics menu.

Consider changing your taste in music?
Seriously,
There is a video(s) on You Tube that explains how to reset the touch screen. I had a 2015 Flex that developed a wonky APIM: some buttons would work did=fferent functions from what they were supposed to> Climate would revert to manual, etc.
If that doesn't help, you may need a new APIM, or have the unit reflashed. See your friendly neighborhood Ford Dealer

Is it actually switch stations, as going from 102.1 to 107.9? Or is it picking up another station on the same frequency? I get that here depending on the weather. I usually get a station out of Lafayette, but will sometimes get it out of Baton Rouge, since I live between both cities.

Aha! That is what it is. I have a station that occasionally bleeds through another station on the same frequency. That's atmospherics, not your radio. I believe it has to do with sunspot activity. The Northern Lights were particularly active in my area last Sunday night. My "aggressor station" will completely overpower the "real" station at times, even if I have line of sight to it.

For me, it's usually on a foggy morning or rainy morning. And atmospherics is correct. It's why under certain conditions HAM operators in the US can pick signals in EU.

Thanks for the detailed reply. The most plausible explanation is atmospheric conditions causing another station to bleed over as it always drifts to the same station. Mariachi music anyone?

Perhaps that would do it, but my choice is not mariachi music. It's always the same station in Mexico that is apparently bleeding over my local station.
Thanks for the prompt reply

Bingo! I think you hit the nail on the head. It always goes to the same Mexican station. Unfortunately mariachi music doesn't appeal to me. Thanks for the reply.
