Got the stubby ant. (damn that thing is small) put it on and it was the first time I turn it to FM radio. Couldn't remember the 80s station and looked for a scan on the sync screen and control panel and don't see one. Looked on the manual and didn't see an indication that you can scan. Am I just missing something?

Not sure haven’t messed around much with the am/fm radio. But some vehicles you would push the fast forward button/skip next button to scan. Try that?

I haven't tried it in my Ranger, but with a lot of systems you press the FF or RW button to scan (pauses on the first station it finds for a few seconds) and hold it to seek (stops on the first station it finds).

I really need to get the stubby antenna since it looks much better and I don't listen to the radio.

Edit: Just went out and experimented a bit.

I don't think the factory radio has a Scan function, only a Seek function.

Honestly I prefer the Seek anyway as there are WAY too many "songs" out there now that I couldn't stand listening to for 5 seconds before it moved on to the next station.

I must be getting old.

This new "music" sounds more like an assault on my ears and, HEY! YOU KIDS GET OFFA' MY LAWN!!

the internet is no place to post documentation and facts
and to prove that the person that said "Looked on the manual and didn't see an indication that you can scan". has both poor grammar and lacks reading skills to actually see this.

It is a lot smaller then the factory antenna. I didn't mind the look but I believed if I kept the air pressure at the 48# that the dealer left it at I would have hit the antenna on the frame of the garage.
