OH BOY....wall to wall puppy poop and piddle !!!
Congrats on the "new family additions" !!!
Thanks Paw! Trying new approach for potty training. Using regular unscented pee pads plus some that are grass scented, get them used to it. Plus an 8'x10' artificial turf for dogs from Sam's club, when the time comes I will put some grass scent on it. Right where the dogs go into the back yard thru the gate they keep it trampled, no grass will grow so the only time there Paws aren't muddy is winter or a drought. This turf will keep the pups clean and we can eventually put the fake yard in.

Mounted our spare wifi camera above the pups.

Hi Mike,

Can she nurse all 12 at once or does she have to double shift nursing the pups?

Best,
Phil

Greetings Phil! For a new mom she's doing a good job staying with them at all times except when she's goes outside then she can't get back to them fast enough. From the pile of sleeping pups not nursing I think she is doing well rotating them. She's starting to get the drift that it's easier to feed them if she's laying flat on her side as opposed to setting on her belly and forcing them to burrow under her. We started bottle feeding all of them a few times a day to make sure they all have a fighting chance. Copper the poppa loves laying on his back sleeping all sprawled out and we've seen that his only son in this litter is already doing the same thing!

So we had to buy smaller collars than we originally bought but now that they are on we can watch who is eating and not. When a pup let's loose of a teet Isa gently pulls it off to the side to sleep and pulls one in to nurse that was waiting or trying to find food, man she's a smart dog! Those multi colored collars make it much easier to keep track. Plus we weighed them all at birth and again when we put the collars on and they are within the same ranges. When Isa goes outside she's all jumping around and her happy playful self but she can't get back to her babies fast enough. She's figured out that laying on her side makes it easier to feed so they don't have to burrow under her. I installed oversized pool noodles with zip ties around the inner perimeter off the bottom as a buffer when the pups get behind her they don't get squashed. Always knew she'd be a great momma and she's doing just that!

? That looks like Annie when she's sleeping on the couch. :lipssealed:

Poor thing is exhausted! But I'm sure she's happy with all her pups around her.

Had a ruckus of off and on yelps so I went back to find 9 pups intertwined like night crawlers stuck behind Isa under the noodle. At least the noodle has served its purpose to "Dampen" the down force of momma on a pup. There I did it, I managed to squeeze in a damper joke with a pile of puppies, go figure!
