Pinball has always been my favorite! We use to walk to the mall and there was an arcade there called The Dream Machine and play pinball all day long. I never liked any video games (still don't ) but I could still play pinball all day now.

Growing up, we didn't have any "malls", just independent stand alone stores and some strip shopping centers. Think "Happy Days" era.
Our pinballs were at the local bowling alley, Cloverleaf Lanes. Played there, but as I got older moved toward the pool tables.

There was one larger mall and it was about 5 miles away. We were only around 10-12 years old at the time and it was mostly main roads with no sidewalks. We would walk through the woods most of the way so none of our parents would see us way over there. ?

lol I was in a bowling league and use to play there too. As I got older we had a pool table in our basement and was always down there shooting pool up through high school. It became the local weekend hangout and my parents would've rather us hanging out there than put driving around getting into trouble. Thank God I had really great parents!!

And...remember Drive-In's ? They were all over back then.
Remember when I first started driving...took my dad's 60 Chevy Station Wagon to the local when they had a $1.00 charge for an entire car load. I was "Hot Sh-t" then cause we could stuff that wagon with upwards of 15 passengers...they never complained and let us in for that buck.

Holy cow at the rolls of quarters I fed into those things!
We'd go to all the local convenience stores (that's where most of them were in my county) to play...for hours on end. :)

Yup we had The Parkway Drive In down the street from the mall. Those were great to get a group of people together and go to the dusk - dawn shows they had every so often.

I remember one time we could barely scrape up enough money for 2 people to get in. We stuffed 3 others in the trunk of my friends Monte Carlo SS. One was getting claustrophobic and started making all sorts of noise telling us to let him out as we were getting closer to the ticket box.

Lots of guns since, but my first BB gun had one amazing trait. It was a lever action with a spring not much bigger than a ball point, you could actually follow the BB out of it if you watched quick, but it held 750 BB’s. BB wars were great. I had to stay low until someone had to reload their 40 shot, but I rounds for hours. ?

Penny candy stores, who can identify these , I remember fireballs, peach stones, root beer barrels, pixy stix, always saved mallow cup pts, turkish taffy, dots (later became blotter acid)
Stores had an amazing assortment and made for a thriving dental industry, those little wax bottles with sugary substance inside.

Add mcdonalds burgers were .25

Yup we use to get the fireballs at the store across from the lake we'd swim at for a .01

My left ear lobe is pierced from my little brother shooting me with a C02 BB pistol when I was running away after shooting him with a crossman pump up pellet gun. Had that puppy pumped 25 time or max allowable! Had to dig out his slug with tweezers. Don’t rat me out to Mom or you’re really gonna get it! Lmao good memories

On a not-so-happy remembery note...
I had a half-uncle that shot me in the temple at a distance of no more than 3 feet with a Daisy bb gun. I was so scared he'd blinded me, and he begged me not to tell what he'd done. My daddy came unglued when he found out.
I was lucky, and so was he!
