Forget the Raptor, Ford just needs to market this thing ready to run from the showroom floor.

I find it interesting that so many truck owners (including Ranger owners) install giant tires on their rigs with spacers and crazy offsets that push their wheels way out, but what they race in Baja are closer to what you get off the showroom. Just an observation.

Pretty cool they raced a mostly stock truck.

too bad the "average joe" like me can't get one OR will have to pay several thousand or tens of thousands of $$ over sticker when the Ranger Raptor comes to the US because it will be "sold out" for a couple years after its release......I'll keep my 2021 Ranger Lariat Tremor for now as it actually has LED headlights (no deleted like the 2022 Lariats), an engine cover (I bought it afterwards before the rush), a Ford Performance tune, hood struts......just to name a few items that make my truck awesome!!.....Ford has some great products but needs to somehow deal with greedy stealerships who add ridiculous " market adjustments"!

The average income in the states is 56k for males and almost 47k for females.

The average new vehicle price is over 48k.

The average joe can certainly afford a Ranger Raptor, unless they're completely hopeless with money or they're living above their means in other areas of their life.

Regrdless I'm impressed, even though the winning truck overall was 10hours faster to finish.
It still finished... even if its almost like the Special Olympics time wise.
I bet if I dissected the results even further, Margaret, on her way to pick the kids up from soccer practice in the Dodge Caravan....probably finished 20th overall and crossed the finish line with 2 flats and a torn off heat shield.

This thing is running on 35" tires that are about 20% wider than what comes on a stock tremor...which they can fit due the aftermarket bumper and long travel suspension kit clearly pictured here.

Most folks aren't coming even close to the tire size and stance they gave this raptor.

It's also a Ranger Raptor, so yes, the wheels will be wider than a standard Ranger - they are running 17-inch forged alloy wheels with 315/70 R17 BF Goodrich tires. Seperate than tire width (contact patch), most guys on the street are running ridiculous offsets to push their wheels out. Hence my point.

Not sure if this is well known, but all the different classes start at different times so by the time this class starts (one vehicle), it was LONG after the bikes and trophy trucks have started.

Robby Gordon is long gone before most classes even wake up!

last i checked its running method race wheels so not oem... so it will have an offset to it

i understand your point thou about crazy offsets but having your truck sit a bit wider then stock helps

When I look at what they raced, the wheels look pretty narrow, but they also have fender flairs so it probably hides much of the width. Without flairs, wheels can tend to look ginormous.

I’ve been fortunate to attend the 1000 twice and it’s Unreal what goes into competing and just Finishing this race! Forget winning. Yes the million dollar trophy trucks and team bikes always finish far ahead of most other classes. Only around 40%, on average, of entries even finish at all. It’s the wildest experience you will ever…experience..
