Ford Pass update has killed it

Location still works on my App, even after auto updates


It's a semiannual reminder:

SWITCHING REAR OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM ON AND OFF

1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2. Press Vehicle.
3. Switch Rear Occupant Alert on or off.

Note: The default setting is on.
Note: Performing a master reset causes the system to switch on again.
Semiannual Reminder (If Equipped)
When you switch the system off, a message appears every six months as a reminder that the system is off. You can switch the system back on or leave it off.

I just checked and mine (2019) doesn't even have this setting.

Probably why I've never gotten the alert. ?

My app seems fine but today I got the annoying "don't forget your baby in the back seat" alert. I have a SCAB and turned that off months ago. Maybe the truck got an update or maybe those warnings have to be opted out of from time to time.

Gonna check the app now, not sure when it last had an update ... thanks for the heads up!

It makes sense from their liability sake. What if I turned that off, sold the truck, and then something like that happened. I can see a "timed opted out" type policy.

Mine updated with no changes other then the vehicle locator is very fast and accurate now.

It works for me except of the fact that it has ALWAYS showed the location of my Ranger as Detroit. I have yet to find any way to change that. Any ideas?

Thanks! I did find in a past thread where someone said Ford had dropped the location feature. So, if that is true, I'm out of luck. ?

They dropped showing it on FordPass but Ford told me that their security dept. still tracks our locations. Hopefully our auto insurers will accept that because some of them give a discount for having a location detector in case the vehicle is stolen!

I didn't read the whole thread. Did the OP log out, then log back in? Restart the phone? Reinstall the app? No issues with FordPass that I recall, but UConnect for my Chrysler acts up some times. Logging out then back into the app usually corrects any issues.

Yes. I had to go into the truck settings on the info screen and change it.
