nope haha it really doesnt! unless you over here doing gta cheat codes to spawn stuff in lol.

my truck is not needed to tow a trailer ever really unless its my m100 and its a special hitch so im for sure not leaving that thing in!

We will see how it holds up over the winter. I suspect it will show a little rust. It is handy as a step with the tailgate closed. Hasn't been put to the test as a bump stop yet.

Since when is 16 ga steel heavy duty? That barely qualifies as a light duty step. It will fold up like a tin can if something hits it.

Personally, yeah, I own one trailer, if i can't plan its use with my trailer hitch then I look dumb.

But lets talk work for a moment.
I cant plan for my company, who's needs change hourly it seems.

I don't get your saltiness for others peoples plans? just let it go.

i own two trailers one that is in the process of being rebuilt and one thats a camping trailer

ive done lots of random times where i need to tow a trailer but its never been oh hey now that you are here tow this trailer for me! its never been like that.... thats why i say again its poor planing on the individuals part or the friend or familys part....

but i can promise you it inst salty just havin fun is all

I just wanted to say, reading this has probably quadrupled my knowledge on hitch steps and all of the issues with them. This forum is great so thank you all for giving me some insight. Still unsure which direction I’ll head but I feel much more informed to make a purchase I won’t regret!

Either do simple regular ol' holes, or better yet, weld a piece of diamond plating for those spots.

I thought about putting my hay spear with a 2 inch shank in my hitch but sticking out almost 4 feet would limit my parking options.

Not heavy duty but I figure it will take care of parking lot bumps with plastic bumpers just fine. I'm not pushing anyone with it or hooking a towstrap to it and it holds my fat ass just fine. Other than not being plastic or crazy expensive did the op mention anything other than heavy duty hitch step. This hits at least 2 of 3 of the requirements. And imo doesn't look bad.
If someone is hitting it hard enough to crush it, I'd rather replace that than a bumper or end up with hitch or frame damage but have my hitch step looking fine.
