I have been getting a ticking sound at start-up and shut-down of the truck. The sound is coming from behind the glovebox. Forscan is showing Code B11F0 in the FCIM module, which is the fresh air door. The code seems to indicate an electrical short of some sort. I am hvaing the dealer look at this on Oct. 3. Has anyone else had this? I am not having the temperature blend door issue like many have had, this sound only occurs when starting or turning the truck off. Adjusting temp from cold to hot to cold again does not produce any noise and temperature adjusts properly. Very odd.

An update. I was able to, very carefully, work my hand to where the fresh air door actuator plugs in. I unplugged it, turned the truck on, and of course the weird ticking sound stopped. I plugged it back in and, of course, the sound returned. So I am feeling pretty confident that the issue is the actuator. I am curious if my dealer folks can figure this out... The problem may be the process to replace this actuator. If you open and then drop the glovebox you can see the actuator on the passenger side of the fresh air intake/blower motor housing, just above the cabin air filter. No room to work there.. We shall see what the dealer says.

A final update. After several start/stop cycles the odd ticking sound has stopped. I also hooked up my Forscan and cleared the code. So far, so good. Given this, I have removed this from my list of items for dealer to address. So, if anyone ever has this odd ticking sound at stratup or shutdown of the truck, and the sound at shutdown seems to drag on for a minute or two, check the electical connector for the fresh air door actuator. My only assumption is that, maybe, when I was replacing the cabin air filter that somehow I pulled the wire just enough to loosen it at the plug. Again, just a guess.

I hope that does it for you. I had to have the full blend door air box replaced after they ripped out the dash. Fortunately i have no rattles or issues since the work was done.
