A little ways back I had some of my subscribers ask for a basic getting started in reloading and the equipment I use so I threw together a simple video about basics and equipment I use. I figured I would post a link should anyone be interested. Just kind of explains the process and what is required.
I've watched your video! LOL

As long as you aren’t planning to carry them, loading by the bucket is my favorite method. Green buckets hold 4K 9, red buckets hold 3k 223. Dating the lid helps, and I add the load data along with chronographed velocities in my pistol and carbines.

nice! I think one could start a low key speak easy style business with one of those... :handshake:
Ever smoke a really good brisket and you made awesome burnt ends out of the brisket point…..then the quick thought of making money doing it comes across your brain? I always end up not wanting to share my burnt ends and brisket…..samesies for ammo. ???

understandable.

so what im hearing you say is you would not feel ok with taking our money and business transactions. you would rather just share out of the kindness of your good heart and give us free ammo!

Every time I go to the gun club I dumpster dive for brass! You wouldn't believe what people will throw away! Found a red dot sight one day........turned the switch and didn't work. Figured if anything call the manufacturer and get a replacement. Turned out whoever threw it in the trash had the battery in upside down. Battery in correct and works fine. Son put it on one if his shotguns!

So, while I'm interviewing for that position (still need your fingers crossed for that), I've also enrolled full time as a student to get an Associate's Of Graphic Design to go with my Bachelor's of Industrial Design degree. I'm currently enrolled in a photography class and our first big assignment is a series of ten photographs. I figured you guys might get a kick out of three of the ten photos I've submitted. ?

This photo fulfills one of the requirements to submit a photo capturing some kind of detail. The title of this one is Serious Business.

This next photo is supposed to explore interesting framing of a shot. It's titled Pesky Owl.

And this photo fulfills one of the requirements to submit photos with an interesting vantage point. I've titled this one The Business End.

One of the things I'm enjoying about this class is I'm a bit hamstringed by my equipment. I have two old (of course) film SLR cameras, but we're mostly working in digital for this class. As much as I would love a DSLR camera, it's just not in the cards right now for the fact that I'm a full time student, not working, and I'm managing a huge home reno project. So I've taken all of my photos with my Samsung Galaxy S21 phone and then tweaked them on Photoshop. It's a bit of a pain to get the photos shot how I want them, but I'm learning a little about how to manipulate the phone's camera.

Thanks for this.

I've entertained the thought of getting into reloading for a while now. This will be a good watch when I'm thinking of getting my feet wet again.

My wife didn't want all the buckets in the house so I had to buy a little backhoe.

Glad I got started back in the 1990s. Reloading equipment was affordable then. Dillon equipment lasts forever and is easily rebuilt so second hand can save a lot.

Did some work on the carbine today. Swapped over the charging handle, cleaned up the magwell. I was having an issue getting mags to drop free. A bit of sanding paper around a mag cleaned those ribs right up.

I started to swap the mag release over. While doing the mag release I ran into a hiccup.

The 57 pistol's mag release button has always been hard for me to reach without breaking form due to my smaller hands. I'm right handed but VERY left eyed, so I shoot pistols right and rifles wrong.

The carbine has a lever for the mag release factory, but if you swap the mag release you have to use the included button which the manual states is a "Ruger 57 mag release button," the lever will not work on the right side of the gun. Swapping the button to the right side made the carbine's mag release hard for me to reach with my thumb, and the lever was difficult to operate with my trigger finger, so on the carbine the button on the left operated by my trigger finger is where I landed.

This is where I might have had a stroke of genius. If the grip frames are so alike that the 57 pistols button works on the carbine, would the carbine's lever work on the pistol?

Yep.

Here's the carbine's grip module with the button in place so you can see the distance I was working with on the factory button.

Obligatory shot of the two together.

I kept the folder on the left side so as to be able to fire while folded. Think I'll be moving to this folder soon...

And somebody needs to make a factory style mag release lever for the right side of the carbine's grip module. Wonder if there's any 3d printing shops around I could get to make one for me?
