Coolant in Exhaust

New 2022 XL Super Cab, Only 60 miles on it. Gibson cat back duel exhaust installed. Adjusting the tips and noticed kind of wet inside the pipe, not condensation water. Used UV Light and it glows bright yellow. Coolant blowing out the exhaust, will take it in this week, makes me sic just thinking about them tearing into a new truck. Luckily it’s not my primary transportation.

Nothing on the dip stick & coolant tank is right on FULL, engine is not missing like a head gasket would cause. Only lost a very small amount coolant so far, not driving it & dealer is only 7 miles away for my trip later this week.

You 100% sure it's coolant? If none on dipstick , I would see if "sport mode " might fix it , might be too new ? or new exhaust juice , I can't believe it's burning coolant , pretty distinct smell if it is...

Took some coolant out of the tank and put it next to stuff coming out the pipe, used UV Light and both glow same color greenish yellow. Did wonder it new exhaust might be coated with something that reacts with condensation, but what are the chances of it glowing exactly same as coolant. Truck has funny smells, but figured it's new truck type smell. Maybe I should just drive it and watch the coolant level.

Yea might want to take it out for a nice long drive on the freeway to burn off all that gunk that is probably from manufacturing, these trucks make a lot of condensation

Some Ford factory worker spilt coolant down the exhaust before the turbo was bolted on and thought "no way will some guy notice this in a few months"

Only went around the block with new exhaust, I'll drive it some more before taking it in for repair.

I would put some "spirited " miles on it and check again after a little road trip, if its peeing out the tailpipe , i imagine you wont get to drive it for a while ...

Two things you might consider before spending hard-earned money at the dealer:

1. Call Gibson to rule out a new exhaust characteristic
2. Remove the new and re-install the OEM exhaust to see if the issue persists and can be Ford’s issue to deal with

I know it’s a lot of work but that install will be a snap the third time around.

new fords do have a unique smell until they have been good and hot several times. in 2015 I bought a new 2016 Mustang GT. after treating it like new born for the required miles i finally got to let it rip and run. it was fantastic except i started smelling that "smell". I was worried until i found it was nothing. so im not thinking too deeply here but is not unlikely that coolant would make it to the exhaust without signs showing in the oil ? the coolant would have to make it to the exhaust valves at some point which would almost guarantee oil or fuel would be with the coolant if im thinking correctly ?

Isn't the turbo water cooled, or is it oil cooled? If water cooled, could be a turbo seal.

Put a few miles on today and up to normal temp, coolant level normal no change and nothing new out the pipes. Was going to take it in Friday, but if the level remains at the full line I'll take a longer drive over the weekend and see if she goes or Blows!
