I know this seems trivial, but when adding a light bar what did you guys use for a switch. I really hate the 99 cent switch it came with and would like to do something a little more factoryish. Also any tips on getting the wire into the cab? Thanks

To get wire into the cab, get a wire insertion tool. Under $10 at O'Reilleys. Pierce the wiring grommet (to the left of the steering grommet) under the dash with the wire insertion tool. Feed your wire through the hole in the wire insertion tool. The wire will come out on the other side of the firewall. Feed enough wire through so you can see it and then pull it through. Remember to extract the wire insertion tool before making any connections. Hope this helps.

I found this is a search, I wish Amazon had it. I'm leaning towards this one, but will have just 1 switch.

Most people will go ahead and buy a switch panel or box with multiple switches. That way you have future expansion ready to go. Here is my setup using Fenix 4200 Mini Controllers.

WOW... That is a lot of stuff!

I know its on american trucks but there is a panel that goes between the cigarette lighter outlets in the console looks super slick and smooth, as far as wiring it in there I can't speak to how easy it is, I have also seen one that goes under the lights dial in that weird open hole but again not sure about the wiring

I had no idea they made such a tool. I can't tell you how many times I could have used something like this. Thanks for the top.

See now what you gotta do is just add more lights and accessories maybe a winch or a compressor that way you got a full panel lol, if you want to do something super easy you could just wire it into the fog lights and have the button turn on the fogs and the light bar

I have one of these installed with only one switch right now, I really like it. Its very clean, honestly looks like a factory piece.

Can you walk me through how the install was? Any significant cutting or panel removals?

I have 22 relayed channels in total, most are for future expansion on items I don't have yet (ie; 12v fridge, air compressor, water tank, fuel transfer tank, etc etc)

Currently I have the following zones as far as lighting; rack left, rack right, rack rear, cargo, pattern channel 1, pattern channel 2, front bumper fogs, ditches, and forward facing spots, and one channel for perimeter all on (basically turn the truck into a 360 degree UFO).

I am almost done with my newest rear seat delete upgrade (v3);

As far as the panel goes, its pretty straight forward. I think there were a couple screws, but mostly it just pops off/on. As for the wiring of the switch, the hardest part is routing the wire through the firewall, but its totally doable.

Were you able to just run it along an existing hole or did you need to do any cutting also did you have to pop any parts of the dash off?
