Did my weekly scroll through Facebook marketplace and came across some 265/70r18 bfgoodrich ko2’s. Guy is asking $400 and I “haggled” him down to $300. Says he’s only put 10k on them. This a good deal??

Seems like a decent deal. Tires are one thing I would never buy used though unless it's from someone I personally knew well. I'm not trusting my life on someone else's used tires but many do it. Good luck.

They look like they have more than 10k miles...

What I was thinking, but...

My eyes might be playing tricks, but those look 50% worn, how many miles are they rated for?

They look about 50% gone to me too. If it sounds too good to be true...

why did he remove them?
noise?
vibration?
different vehicle needs?
Said he bought larger tires and doesn’t need these anymore. Asked if they were cupped and he said nothings wrong with them. How I see it is even if they’re worn down I get all 4 for less than the cost of 1 new

They look like they have more than 10k miles, then again even my factory tires with 2k look shallow..

I mean, yeah its a decent deal. Go for it.
Looking at the pictures more closely you may be right…

See I hate buying new tires, partially because I’m 20 and don’t have $1500 floating around. And I bought some Nitto trail grapplers for $150 and they’ve been good to me for about 6 months but they’re almost done for

Also wondering about unsprung weight. I have Nitto trail grappler 285/65r18 and they weight 68lbs where these ko2’s weigh like 56lbs. Will I notice a huge difference in fuel economy, acceleration, ride comfort? That’s about a 50lb weight difference

15/32" is what i see listed as the new depth and 50000 mile tread life
check yours
The nittos I have currently came with 19/32” and they’re now like 6/32”. So they definitely need a refresh
Probably should ask him to send a pic with a little Lincoln in the tread

Oh I get it I was young and broke once too. lol I'm usually one who's always looking for a deal but found many times buying used sometimes isn't the best option as it could cost you more in the long run. I'm sure they'll be fine I'm just saying that I don't trust used tires.

You'll notice a difference with less rolling weight but I don't think it's going to be a huge one, maybe 1-1.5 mpg?

If those tires pictured are rated for 50k miles... yea 10k miles my ass....
maybe that’s why they’re priced so cheap? Having a les Schwab buddy come with just to make sure I don’t get f’d over. Obviously I don’t know much when it comes to tires
