Can I get one of these so it’s dual purpose? Sort of like the programmed door lock on my house. Has like 6 different codes you can program and can also use your phone to communicate with it!

With adding "features" like this makes me wonder if they are going to start moving away from key fobs in general or only giving a single fob with new vehicles. Maybe use NFC or bluetooth connectivity to authenticate the phone to the truck for starting in place of the transponder fobs. Kind of makes sense since virtually everyone has a smartphone these days why not make use of them like that.
This is simply software engineers justifying their jobs. By adding a feature nobody asked for or wanted they can say "look what an awesome feature we added."

Visit the best stereo shop in your metro area. I'm sure they've built stash boxes before. This has been being done since the 90s.

I understand that most people have phones but not everyone does, and some wish they could do away with theirs. Plus I don't have the patience to get my 85 year old Dad up to speed on this kind of technology, so I really hope it doesn't come to (Ford) pass ?
Yep. I remember the days of two keys.....I would never want to be totally without the fob. I like FordPass as well. I am glad they are keeping it going but I want to keep my key.

Yeah and then comes the subscription based features and glitches too. I'm glad I have a regular fob and key. If the battery goes dead I can still unlock and start my truck.
You can unlock and start with the fancy key fob as well.

I have a stash box for my pistol. It's the door cubbie. It was free, and it's more accessible.

I've seen explorers without a keyhole ignition just a start button. The lariats don't have that?

I just found out the other day my Trex Sidecar fits in the cupholder perfectly. Practically clips in and doesn't move. Still I'm thinking a way to clip it lower on the side of the center console, so it's not so obvious. Door cubby is broadcasting it when I get in/out of the truck.
