I have a 2019 Ranger and the factory warranty is about to expire. The 2019 Ranger has had its issues and mine has had some minor ones, but I'm not sure its going to remain that way. The Ranger transmission drives me nuts. To me, it's like its always on the cusp of failure, shifts hard at times, it doesn't shift sometimes when its cold, it's a crap shoot. lol. So now I'm thinking of buying an extended warranty to cover myself in the future. I've never bought on in the past, but now I'm thinking about it. So, I'm looking for some input on weather to get one and what to get if I do. Thanks

Go here and buy one. It's an actual Ford warranty through an actual Ford dealership.

Totally agree...thats where I got mine.
Aftermarket is never as good as factory, and depending on the company, have so many disclaimers its hard to know what your getting.
With the Ford plan, you don't even have to have any paperwork or plan info with you...when you purchase, it's assigned to your vin. Take your truck to ANY Ford dealer and when your vin is pulled up so is your plan and what coverage you have.

It's kind of like insurance. I've had them before and not needed them. But you pay for the "what if". My philosophy now is that I can cover anything that breaks on a ranger myself and if I am lucky to not have major issues then I save myself the cost of the warranty. Obviously would feel differently if I had an Audi or BMW or something that has astronomical repair costs.

Also, many factory dealers will not accept aftermarket warranty plans. You'll have to pay up front and try and get reimbursed by the company.
But, you can always take it to "Bubba's Back Street Garage and Bar-B-Q Emporium" (And Yes, We Have a Laundromat Also)....they'd be happy to take anything they can get !

Go with the Ford ESP from Flood. You can get an 8yr 150K bumper to bumper with $200 deductible for about $2500. No aftermarket can match that.

This too. Unbeknownst to me, my dealer sold me a 3rd party ESP. I had assumed that since I was buying from a large Ford dealer, they would sell a Ford ESP. In the paperwork it says if I have a problem, I should take to the place of purchase for the quickest and easiest repairs. I am going to cancel that plan and get one from Flood Ford.

Do your homework...
When I was looking into the plan my selling dealer gave me "our best price", and its a bargin.
Checked with Flood, and their price to me was almost half of what my dealer was charging.
Flood rep told me that most dealers will mark up the plan almost 100% and that excees goes right into their pockets. My dealer was set to make almost $1000 extra from me, for the same plan, a genuine Ford ESP plan. Flood rep stated they may only make $50-$75 extra on each plan they sell, but they make up for it by selling more plans than just about anyone else.
Don't be scared of buying from a legit dealer on-line.

That is crazy, I wouldn't be happy about that.

Agree with everyone on this thread. Dealers is not the place to get extended warranties. The ones they listed are definitely the better ones to approach. Good luck!

`I had an extended auto warranty with 1st source warranty service on a previous truck and they went bankrupt. They were highly rated and successful when I went on board. Took a loss and only got a skimpy settlement amount. Realize that this is an isolated occurrence but don't want to go there again. I am making monthly payments into a bank account instead of paying for a warranty service and which will be used for repairs if I need it. If not, will still have the investment to keep.

Wish I knew about that Ford dealer selling warranties, I bought the 6/60,000 through the dealer. Obvious they are ripping you off by how hard they try to sell them.
I figure in 6 years or 60k, if something is going to happen it will by then. Plus I don’t keep vehicles long after I pay them off.
